Brenda Ingram sneaked off for a bit and came back with two gifts in hand. She gave one to Aaron Ingram and warmly handed the other to Stephanie, saying, "This is just a little something from me. I hope you'll come more often."
Stephanie glanced silently at Sebastian, not uttering a word.
Sebastian casually said, "If you want to take it, just take it."
Stephanie felt that even though she didn't really like these people, she couldn't let the atmosphere get too awkward.
This was a gift Brenda voluntarily gave, prepared on the spur of the moment. It seemed inappropriate not to accept it.
So, she reached out, took the gift, and said thank you.
Brenda, all smiles and warmth, said, "It's only right for elders to give gifts to the younger ones."
In the Ingram family, Brenda was probably the one who most wanted Stephanie to become the lady of the house.
She had already picked out Aaron’s future wife, who was a daughter from a prominent family.
By then, with the support of his wife's family, Aaron would have lots of advantages in competing with Sebastian.
She thought Sebastian was a fool. He didn’t want an excellent lady from a prestigious family who could provide help. Instead, he had a thing for someone like Stephanie.
Aaron shared the same thought as Brenda, so he had long let go of past grudges and had no other thoughts about Stephanie.
He generously gave her a gift, saying, "Let's put the past behind us. When you see me in the future, we're still family."
Seeing that his eyes no longer held that frivolousness from before, Stephanie accepted his gift.
But she said lightly, "If you can act like a real family member, I'll accept you as family, just like I accept Sebastian."
Aaron raised an eyebrow and said, "Well, thank you. Remember to attend my wedding next year."
Stephanie, surprised, said, "You're getting married?"
The gift looked like he had to beg someone for it.
Stephanie said somewhat displeased, "If you don't want to give it, then don't. I don't want it."
"It's you who don't want it, not me." As he said this, he was ready to take the gift back.
Sebastian grabbed the gift and looked inside.
"It’s only worth two hundred dollars? Are you messing with me?"
Ava blushed, "Sebastian, I prepared the gift."
"You only prepared a two hundred dollar gift?"
The gift Marilyn gave him was worth eight hundred and eighty-eight dollars.
