Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 547

If Joel Foster remembered correctly, Office Katz and his family moved out of the capital around 11 to 12 years ago.

At that time, Lucy Katz was around 9 or 10 years old.

If that was the case, did it mean that Officer Katz passed away not long after he moved away with his family?

All these years, Lucy Katz did not have a father and had to tolerate the constant harassment from that trash of a stepfather?

Joel instantly felt an unknowing heartache along with a whole lot of remorse.

He was sorry for her experience, but even more so, he hated himself for not paying attention to the Katz family and for not looking for her.

In the eyes of a child, their childhood friendship was pure yet easy to forget.

Even if he remembered the little girl that constantly chased after him while she called him Brother Joel, before his heartstrings were pulled when he met Lucy for the first time after all those years, he never once thought of taking the initiative to look for her.

Oh, humans. Plenty of times, it was this type of situation that allowed one to unwittingly miss one’s most important thing and person.

Joel was silent for a long time until the car arrived at Lucy’s apartment lobby. As Lucy prepared to get down from the car, he made a sound.

“Wait!”

Lucy paused and turned around.

He got out of the car and hurriedly made his way over to her side.

Lucy pressed her lips together and asked, “Do you have anything else?”

Joel looked at her. For the first time, his delicate eyebrows did not show his usual romantic look but had a complex and restrained look instead.

He said in a low voice, “Let me walk you back home.”

Lucy was taken aback but did not reject him and just gave a small nod.

She turned around and walked inside. Joel saw this and quickly followed.

Although many things happened between the both of them, this was the first time Joel was alone with her in her house.

Before this, Lucy stayed at an apartment provided by Xinghui. After she made some money, she did not want to move, so she just bought the apartment.

They took the elevator to the 18th floor. Lucy fished out her keys and opened the door. The two of them then entered her apartment.

The apartment was not big. It had 2 rooms and a living room. It seemed cozy because she decorated it with warm tones.

Lucy placed her purse on the side and took out a pair of slippers for him from the shelf. She said, “I don’t have men’s slippers. I only have girly ones, so just make do for a bit.”

Joel glanced at the slippers next to him. They were pink and had small flower prints that were adorable.

He was not bothered and just took off his shoes and walked to the living room with his socks on.

Lucy noticed that he did not wear the slippers and was a bit stunned, but it did not matter so she followed him inside.

“Do you want water?”

“Yup.”

Joel grunted and Lucy fetched him a glass of warm water.

He walked around the house. Besides her bedroom, he finished touring her house and said, “This place is nice. It suits you.”

Lucy smiled lightly and said, “It’s just a place to sleep. It’s suitable as long as it’s livable.”

These words did not sound like they came from an A-list actress. All of her counterparts who were at her level stayed in lavish houses and drove luxury cars. None of them were as simple as her.

Joel looked at her and frowned slightly. After a while, he asked, “You don’t have anything to say to me?”

Lucy raised her eyebrows and looked into his eyes, then averted her gaze a second later.

She knew what he wanted to ask her, but those words were going back and forth countless times in her heart and she still could not say it.

Joel saw that she was silent and took the initiative to ask her, “How’s Aunt Katz? Where is she now?”

He sneered and strode towards her.

Lucy hesitated. She wanted to say something but suddenly felt like it was better not to.

She just looked at Joel and sighed.

“I didn’t mean it that way.”

“I don’t care what you meant. Anyway, now that I know the truth, from this day forward, your matters will be mine too.”

Lucy frowned as she heard this.

She never thought that Joel would say this.

However, she knew her stepfather’s character, which was why she was reluctant to tell Joel the truth. She just did not want him to get involved in this mess.

Although she knew that Joel had his ways of dealing with things, her stepfather was sleazy and was not easy to get rid of.

Moreover…

Lucy reluctantly laughed and said, “That sounds funny. What relationship do we have for you to meddle in my business?”

Joel was taken aback by her response. He suddenly thought of something and his eyes turned cold.

Lucy was laughing while she used her fingers to comb her hair, She casually said, “I have a fiancé, even if I need any help, I’ll naturally ask him. Young Master Foster, what role did you assume to be helping me?”

Once she said this, Joel’s already cold eyes instantly turned unpleasant.

He suddenly walked towards Lucy and pinned her against the wall. His voice was so deep and chilling.

“Ha! Don’t need my help? Then who was it at the bar earlier, who didn’t let me go and held onto me, and begged me to save her?”

Lucy was at a loss for words when he retorted in this manner.
