Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 377

With that in mind, she politely answered, “Hello, I’m here for an audition. My name is Lucy Katz.”

Lucy was not that big in the industry, albeit she was not unknown either. In general, she was an actress somewhere between the B to C list.

Nevertheless, she kept a low profile and mostly accepted shows that were internal resources of Anning International. Hence, outsiders within the entertainment industry knew little of her.

Sitting on a chair, a plump man lifted his head and gave her the side glance before vaguely nodding.

“Okay, take a seat! It’ll soon be your turn.”

“Sure.”

As Lucy took a seat within reach, she noticed two girls following the director into a bedroom inside, leaving her alone with the cameraman.

There was a hint of awkwardness in the air.

For some reason, Lucy felt uneasy since coming into this room.

She had a weird hunch.

She took a glance at the cameraman who was smoking. The latter blew a smoke ring and smiled at her.

“Are you scared?”

Lucy was taken aback. “Huh?”

The cameraman grinned. “I know you. You were great in the dramas.”

“Oh, haha, thanks for the compliment.”

Lucy did not know what to say, even her smile seemed rather unnatural. After a pause, she asked out of curiosity, “Are they auditioning in there?”

“Yeah.”

“Why aren’t you in there? Don’t you need to film it?”

“Nope.”

The man’s brief answers implied his unwillingness to engage in further conversation.

All the more Lucy was left unsettled and curious. Although she had sensed something amiss, she was too embarrassed to enquire.

About ten minutes later, the two girls finally came out.

As it was summer, these girls only had a simple T-shirt or blouse on but they appeared disheveled when they emerged out of the room.

One of the girls, red in the face, straightened up her clothes in a scurry. The pair looked shy and flustered as they left in a hurry.

Just as Lucy watched in doubt, the director’s voice was heard from the bedroom.

“You, come in!”

Throwing a glance at the cameraman, Lucy was able to ascertain from his eyes that she was called. She then hummed in expression and entered the room.

With the curtains down, the bedroom was dimmed with only a faint table lamp lit.

The director leaned back against a sofa in the corner with his legs crossed, puffing a cigarette.

He waved his hand and squinted his eyes as she came in, and said, “Take off your clothes!”

“Huh?”

Lucy froze there.

The director frowned unhappily.

“What are you standing there for? Take it off! How would I know your figure is up to standard if you don’t take off your clothes? The female lead role being auditioned today has a lot of scenes in a bikini so the body figure is most crucial.”

Having snapped out of it, Lucy realized the reason why the two girls came out red in the face.

She too, blushed and stammered, “I-I... Can’t I...”

The furrow between the director’s brows deepened.

That lecherous eyes and tone of voice seemed to disregard her presence in the room.

As color drained from her face, Lucy felt sick to her stomach.

“Sorry, I’m not going to audition. I’ll be leaving now.”

She informed and departed in a rush. The director did not stop her and instead, snorted in disdain.

Nowadays, some people were delusional to think that they could remain virtuous just because they were a little popular.

Sure, she was blessed with good luck this time but she would know what was reality when she hit a wall one too many times.

With many beautiful girls dying to get into entertainment, the industry was not short of her alone. Hence why the director had never resorted to violence.

Without adopting any means, there were already countless girls trying to get into his bed for a fighting chance, much less those that he expressed interest in.

His eyes alighted with a glint at that thought. He then glanced through the name list for that girl’s information and gave a call to his assistant.

“Hello, there’s a girl named Lulu who auditioned today. Have her come to my room tonight.”

...

After Lucy had left the hotel, she went straight back to the shoot.

When Susan called her to ask about the situation in the afternoon, Lucy told her the truth.

Susan was unaware that it would end up like this.

She apologetically said, “Sorry, a friend of mine recommended this job. I didn’t know it'd be like this. I heard that you needed the money so I thought you should try out since the pay is good. It’s best not to go if that’s the case.”

Lucy nodded. Struck by a thought, she quickly added. “Did you tell anyone that I’m strapped for cash?”

Susan seemed occupied as her voice was faint. “I’m not nosy. Why would I tell anyone else?”

Lucy finally let out a sigh of relief.
