The answer would be revealed soon.
On this day, Nell had received an invitation to attend a fashion show.
As the organizer of the event was a brand that she was particularly fond of, she decided to attend the show.
Coincidently, Janet, Lucy, Simon, and Director Eric were all present at the scene as well.
Although they belonged to the same circle, they rarely had the opportunity to gather on the same occasion.
As a consequence, Nell was delighted and had drunk more than she used to.
Perhaps her alcohol tolerance was considerably low or that she did not fill her tummy before she came, Nell soon found herself bloating in gas and feeling tipsy.
She then did not proceed to drink any further and excused herself from the group to the washroom.
Nancy had always been following closely behind her. She was wearing a Western suit. Her demeanor was cold and resembled that of a strong woman.
Nell passed her handbag to her and instructed her to wait outside. She had planned to come out right after she finished using the washroom.
As the only way out of the washroom was also its entrance, Nancy did not worry too much and had allowed her to enter.
After Nell was done, she went on to wash her hands and suddenly felt chills down her spine. The feeling had resembled that of being stared by a hungry carnivorous beast.
She immediately became alerted, turned her body swiftly, and asked, “Who’s there?”
However, before Nell could even finish turning around, an unknown person quickly reached out from behind her, covered her mouth, and dragged her into one of the cubicles.
The lighting in the cubicle was dim.
Nell was pressed onto the cubicle door, her mouth was still covered. She did not dare move a single muscle.
She tried to get a closer look at her assailant. Unfortunately, the lighting was so dim that she could not get a clear sight of their face.
Amid the darkness, she could only hear a man’s panting and her intense heartbeat.
Nell could feel her entire body tightening up as she felt the man slowly leaning toward her ear. The man behaved as if he was trying to withhold his urge as he breathed directly onto her neck. Nell felt a tingling, warm sensation on her skin.
“Long time no see, Little Seven. Can you not recognize me anymore?”
Nell’s eyes widened as she became shocked.
It was him!
That voice, it was the most familiar voice she could recognize.
After all, the man had spent thousands of days by her side, guiding her and training her.
It could be said that he was one of the most important people in Nell’s life. To her, he was her mentor and her savior, but he was also her…
He was also Nell’s sworn enemy whom she wished to never cross path with again!
Nell frowned as she tried to mutter something from her covered mouth.
The man laughed softly.
“Looks like Little Seven do recognize me after all. Not bad, even though you couldn’t pick up on my scent, you can still recognize my voice. At least, I don’t feel too bad about it.”
A few seconds later, the man finally let go of his grip.
Nell stared at the man in anger.
Although she still could not see his face clearly, she still stared madly at his figure and said, “What’re you returning here for?”
The man laughed. “For you.”
“Our relationship no longer exists since a long time ago!”
“Ayy, how could you put it this way? Back in those days, you used to call me ‘brother’ in such sweet tones. Fast forward a few years and you no longer acknowledge me as your brother anymore?”
Nell sneered.
“No brother would’ve done the things you did to their own sister! What more, I’ve made it clear that whatever favor I owed you, I’ve since repaid it all. I’m no longer your sister!”
The man shook his head. His tone contained a hint of disappointment.
The man raised his brows and asked, “Do you then want me to call you Kleine Sieben?”
Nell was rendered speechless.
The man laughed again. His flirtatious eyes looked like it could bewitch anyone he crossed paths with. He said, “Kleine Sieben, it’s been four years since we last met, hasn’t it?”
Nell could only feel that her chest was about to implode.
She did not know where all the rage came from. She only needed to look at that face before she started recalling all her memories. It was only a matter of time before she could no longer resist the temptation to land a punch on his face.
She snapped. “No, I don’t! I also don’t have any interest whatsoever toward you! Please stay as far away as possible from my life and don’t harass me ever again!”
Nell immediately turned to leave once she finished her sentence.
It was at this moment when the man announced something in an emotionless tone.
“Old K is dead!”
Nell stopped in her path.
Her entire body froze.
She looked back at the man and was incredulous toward what she had heard. Her voice was slightly coarse as she asked, “What did you say?”
The man was no longer smiling, yet his eyes remained visibly calm. His face did not reveal any strong emotions in particular and he proceeded to explain the incident like it was an everyday matter.
“Old K is dead, he was assassinated by someone half a month ago. The murderer probably belonged to the same group of people who tried to kill you a few years ago. I found the same marking of a flower on his body.”
Nell could only freeze in horror. Her mind had gone blank and there was a sharp ringing sound resonating within her ears.
“What had happened? Isn’t he… Always in the country? Why…”
“He was assassinated exactly within this country. Whatmore, it was in his house. Old K’s wife and family were at the scene, but the murderer merely knocked them out and did not murder them. Which is why I think Old K must’ve found out something.
“Judging from the incident seven years ago, the group seems to operate on some principles of not killing the innocents, which is why Old K’s family is still unharmed till today.”
