Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 363

Raindrops were coming down in buckets.

Nell cowered in a corner, shivering.

The director, together with a group of staff members, gathered around her and anxiously expressed concern. “How are you? Are you okay?”

She nodded.

“You injured your hands? Quick! Take her to the hospital!”

Nell’s memory was a blur in the subsequent events.

She did not know what was going on, only that her head was heavy. Everyone scrambled to bandage the wound on her hands temporarily with a cloth but the blood kept tickling, threatening to drain the life out of her.

It was not long before she passed out.

Meanwhile, on the other side.

The Garretts’ residence.

Old Master Garrett met with Aunt Xenia.

DNA samples were taken from the two strands of hair given and the report was out.

Only, the result took everyone by surprise.

This was because the report showed that not only Nell was Juliette’s daughter, even Celine shared direct blood ties with the Garretts.

Both Old Master Garrett and Aunt Xenia were dumbstruck.

Who would have thought that this would be the result?

Since Juliette had passed, the DNA sample taken for testing included Old Master Garrett’s, apart from Celine and Nell’s.

Although it was a blood relation with a generation gap, it still could be verified through precise computing.

However, the result showed that both Nell and Celine carried 25% of the Garretts’ bloodline.

What was going on?

Old Master Garrett and Aunt Xenia were left scratching their heads.

Just then, he suddenly received a call.

The call was from Stephanie, informing them of Nell’s accident. Shocked, Old Master Garrett rushed over after enquiring about the hospital’s address.

On the other side, Gideon had received the news as well.

The drama shoot was invested by Anning. Nell and he had also gone public about their relationship.

Hence, the moment Nell met with an accident, the producers immediately gave him the call.

Gideon was the first to reach the scene and when he arrived, Nell was still unconscious.

The doctors checked on her and found she had a fever at 39.5 degrees. Fortunately, the fever had subsided after a shot.

As a lot of force was applied to her hands, the steel wire had cut into her palms like a sharp razor. The two major blood vessels and tendons in the palms were damaged, causing her to bleed profusely then.

Such an injury required at least a month or two to fully recover.

Even if she made recovery, there were bound to be after-effects in life such as inability to use force or carry heavy objects.

Another point to note was that when the steel wire broke, Nell had swayed away and rammed onto the cliff, crushing her hip bone.

These injuries added together seemed rather severe.

It had never occurred to the crew that she was so badly hurt. They were too afraid to utter a single word and even held their breath in the face of Gideon’s grimacing complexion.

With his heart in his mouth, Director Wendell brought the props team along to come forth.

“President Leith, these two are our colleagues in charge of props today but I had questioned them. Nell’s harness didn’t have any problem in the morning but it snapped in the afternoon when in use. Someone tampered with it so they likely have no involvement in this.”

Wendell wanted to plead on behalf of the props team members.

They were innocently caught up in this mess.

The harness was fine an hour ago when someone else used it. In between, they had their lunch and the next minute, something had happened when it was Nell’s turn on the harness.

As both her hands were wrapped in a thick layer of gauze, the wound was not visible.

Nevertheless, he still wanted to take a closer look as though he could see past the layers of gauze and straight to the injury.

“Why are you stopping me? Don’t you know who I am? Let me in!”

Old Master Garrett’s angry screams were heard outside.

With a frown, Gideon, at last, got up and walked out.

“Grandpa Garrett, is something the matter for your presence here?”

Subduing his anger before Gideon, Old Master Garrett muttered, “I want to go in and take a look at Nelly.”

Gideon’s grimacing face was not looking too good.

“I’m sorry, she needs rest. She won’t be seeing anyone.”

Old Master Garrett choked back.

While regaining composure, he caught a glimpse of coldness and repulsion in Gideon’s eyes. Old Master Garrett was quickly struck by a thought.

He explained himself, “Deon, don’t tell me you suspect it’s my doing? Why would an old man like me go after her? She’s only a child in my eyes!”

Gideon smirked.

“What wouldn’t you do for the sake of your precious granddaughter? Nelly embarrassed Celine in public a few days ago and suddenly this happens? What makes you think I won’t suspect you?”

Old Master Garrett, “...”

He knew that Gideon would never believe him no matter how he explained himself.

Hence, he sighed.

“All right, it doesn’t matter if you don’t believe me but I really want to take a look at her. If you really have little confidence in me, I can stand at the door and gaze from afar. I just want to take one quick look, can I?”

Gideon frowned.
