Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 34

Nell’s body stiffened as if she was at the execution ground.

However, Gideon did not do anything more.

He changed into sleepwear and lay down beside her. Then, he encircled her body from behind and locked her in his arms.

Nell froze.

The air was filled with a faint aroma of pinewood, and the pillow was full of the cold scent belonging to this man.

Coupled with the hot temperature behind her, she felt like she was surrounded by his smell. She was just like a captured bird, tightly surrounded.

Fortunately, it seemed that Gideon was true to his words.

Although embracing her like this made her feel a little uncomfortable, he did not do anything else.

She was too stifled. Although she could keep herself from sleeping at first, the man’s even breathing from behind her made her eyelids get heavy as well, and before long, she fell asleep.

When she woke up, it was already sunset.

Nell did not expect to sleep so long and was shocked when she woke up. Looking at her phone, she saw that it was already 5:00 pm.

She rubbed her face and woke up from her haziness.

The spot next to her was empty. Gideon had long since disappeared.

Only when she went downstairs did she learn that there was a sudden emergency at the company and that Gideon had been called to the office.

She asked Aunt Joyce, “What time did he leave?”

Aunt Joyce replied with a smile. “He left at 11:00 a.m. in the morning. He said that the Missus was tired and told us not to disturb you so that you could rest more.”

Nell’s eyes lowered.

11:00 a.m. in the morning. That meant that he had not slept for long.

Thinking about how tired he had been after working because of her last night and yet not having time to rest today made guilt rise in her heart.

“Missus, you must be hungry! Would you like to eat now or wait for Mr. Leith?”

“I’ll wait for him!”

Then, Nell walked back upstairs.

Halfway up the stairs, she rubbed her stomach and said, “If there’s food, then bring some up to me first. I’ll have some small bites while waiting.”

Aunt Joyce smiled cheerily and replied, “Yes.”

She brought Nell a bowl of delicious chicken soup and a stack of small crispy shortbread.

Nell sat cross-legged on the sofa and ate happily while checking the latest news about the Jennings family on the Internet.

The Jennings were an influential family in Jincheng. Coupled with Celine’s identity and the large commotion last night, whether it was financial reporters or entertainment reporters, they would not let go of this juicy piece of meat in front of them.

Therefore, as soon as she opened the browser, she immediately saw the latest news published.

As she expected, everyone in the Jennings family had been bailed out.

After all, Sylvia had not really been involved in the actual operation of harming Nell.

Although the crusade against her on the Internet was still heavy, the police could not find any evidence, so they could not keep the Jennings under custody and had to release them.

However, Isaac Collins was not that lucky.

According to the clues provided by Nell, the police found that Isaac had drugged her. The waiter had also testified that Isaac drugged it himself.

With the evidence collected, Isaac would be facing criminal prosecution.

Nell’s lips curled slightly.

She was not surprised in the slightest that the Jennings were released on bail.

That old fox, Sylvia Walker, never left anything that could be used against her.

Even if there was a video taken by Gideon as evidence, at most, that video would only cause the public to condemn her. It could not be used as evidence to convict.

That was because she might have said that while she was being threatened.

It was true that Gideon used extreme measures to intimidate her.

Thinking about this, Nell rubbed her chin.

She knew that the only reason Gideon recorded that video and released it was because many people had seen her getting involved with Isaac Collins last night.

Although he appeared and saved her, most people were still unclear about her relationship with Isaac.

There was no one who did not know that their boss hated being disturbed during meetings.

Nevermind a phone call, even a message was enough to make him furious.

What kind of wind was blowing today?

Not only did the president answer the phone, he even announced a suspension of the meeting at its most crucial point?

Everyone immediately turned their curious gazes towards Matthew.

Matthew, who was sitting at the side, cleared his throat.

“Uh… Well, there’s a big business deal recently. Um, the president is talking about business!”

Everyone was struck by realization.

To be considered a big business deal by the president’s special assistant, who handled tens of billions of yuan without any change in expression, it seemed like this business deal must indeed be very outstanding.

It was no wonder the president was so flexible and was even willing to change his principle of not answering the phone for this other party!

As expected of the president!

A surge of admiration for Gideon rose in the executives’ hearts.

On the other hand, Gideon, who was talking about a ‘big business deal’, stopped at the corridor and answered the call.

“You’ve woken up?”

Nell was a little embarrassed. “Yeah. Didn’t you say that you would wake me up? How could you let me sleep this long?”

Gideon chuckled as his eyes softened. “Sorry, I was too busy and forgot.”

Nell paused and suddenly asked, “What time are you coming back?”

“Hm?”

“I’ll… Wait to eat with you!”

Her tone was awkward as if she was not used to this way of speaking, but she was still unable to hide the concern in her voice.

He worked hard the entire day. It was about time to eat and have a rest!
