Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 338

After all, Nell was aware of how much Janet had suffered for the past one year.

Previously, she had chided the man as well. She wondered about his identity and how irresponsible he was to neglect his child and left Janet on her own.

Nell’s expression darkened when she saw Liam.

Despite knowing that certain issues and conflicts were surrounding their entanglement, Nell still made a few hostile remarks.

Liam did not mind. He knew that Nell and Janet were close friends, so he did not take Nell’s remarks to heart.

After picking up Sunny, Liam took Janet home.

Nell was not too happy about Janet staying together with Liam, but ultimately, it was her friend’s personal issue and she did not want to interfere.

Fortunately, Janet had gotten her contract back. She was prepared to make a comeback in a few months. With Ulric’s help, the contract that was signed under the Hancocks could be void but Ethan was still mad, especially when he learned that his daughter got married without informing him earlier. He had even announced that whoever dared to sign her would be going against the Hancocks!

Most likely, Ethan wanted to ban her.

As a result, companies that were originally interested in her had second thoughts.

After all, despite Janet’s fame, she was known to have a rather indifferent personality and had her own opinions. Moreover, she refused to obey her company’s plans for her, so people were not sure whether it was a good or bad idea to sign an artiste like her.

Secondly, Janet might have hidden the news of her childbirth overseas well, but some rumors about this matter still spread.

Everybody felt that it was unnecessary to offend Ethan because of a time-bomb like her.

Thus, Janet’s comeback had met an obstruction. When Nell learned of this, she signed her under Xinghui without a moment’s hesitation.

Gideon was fine with it. Nell was his wife and her friend was also his friend.

On the other hand, Janet felt depressed because of this.

Aside from Ethan, she also felt bad about her argument with her father.

However, unless there was a third option, nobody wanted this to happen.

Nell could not help her with this issue, so she could only let out a helpless sigh.

Today, she had invited Eric Freeman and another investor for dinner. Eric had a new film and wanted her to star in it, so he wanted to brief her on her role.

Nell and Eric knew each other very well. The investor knew Gideon, thus he was courteous to Nell.

The dinner went on smoothly and the discussion was fruitful.

Nell had promised Lizzy to watch a cartoon together, so she did not linger after the meal. She bade farewell to Eric and the investor, then left.

She got down to the parking lot and was about to enter her car when she overheard an argument from a corner.

Her car was parked less than ten meters away from the corner. As there was a cement pillar in the middle, the other party could not see her and neither could she see them.

Yet, the voices sounded familiar. Out of curiosity, Nell stopped in her tracks.

It sounded like a woman and a man arguing.

The woman cried, “Who the hell do you think you are?! I have nothing to do with you, even if I’m pregnant! You’d better take a hint and get lost! If we get photographed, I won’t let you off the hook!”

“Stephanie…”

“Also! This child is just a byproduct of an accident. I won’t keep him and you aren’t fit to be his father, so stop harping on this. We come from very different backgrounds and if you keep pestering me, there’ll be no positive outcome for both of us.

“I’ll give you a sum of money if you’re willing to let me go, so you can leave this place and start a new life. It’s your choice whether you want the money or remain unsuccessful! Give me a call once you’ve made up your mind. That’s all.”

Stephanie said her piece and got into her car hurriedly. She slammed the door and sped out of the parking lot.

Justin stared at the car with bloodshot eyes and clenched fists.

Nell had not gone away for long before she was stopped by a red Ferrari.

A minute later, someone knocked on her window. She rolled it down and saw Stephanie’s pretty face.

“It’s really you?!”

Stephanie’s expression was a mixture of dismay and anger.

There was nothing else Nell could do, so she waved her hand and greeted her, “Hi! Miss Garrett, long time no see.”

In contrast to Nell’s cheerfulness, Stephanie was glum.

She glanced around, then lowered her voice. “Ms. Jennings, would you let me come in and have a word with you?”

Nell returned a wan smile. “It’s ok, we don’t have anything to talk about.”

Stephanie replied coldly, “Ms. Jennings, I never harbored any ill will toward you. When you stole Brother Deon away, I wished both of you well, too. Why push me away?”
