Liam noticed her reaction and narrowed his eyes with glee.

“What are you looking at, Mrs. Jackman?”

He asked as he dried his hair with a towel.

Janet blushed furiously and coughed in a bashful manner. Then, she pouted and murmured, “Who would want to look at you? You shameless fella!”

She then turned her body around and pretended to ignore him.

The more she tried to act like a prude, the more she expressed her true emotions.

Suddenly, Liam’s mood greatly improved. The solemn air about him had even dissipated.

He dried his hair, removed the towel from his body, and climbed onto the bed.

Janet was flustered when a gust of warm air began to wrap around her.

She was horrified and sat up straight to look at the man lifting the blanket.

She screamed. “What are you doing?!”

Liam twitched his eyebrows innocently. “Going to sleep.”

Janet glared at him. “Don’t you have your own room? Aren’t you going to sleep in your own room?”

Liam shook his head and explained patiently, “We weren’t married before, so we had to sleep in separate rooms. But now, we’re a legally married couple. Have you ever seen a couple who sleeps in separate rooms?”

Janet was silent.

She knew it!

She was irritated and pulled the blanket, muttering, “Then, you aren’t allowed to sleep now. Why are you sleeping during the day?”

Liam scoffed. “Why are you allowed to sleep?”

“I… I’m not in a good mood and I don’t feel well, alright?”

Liam narrowed his eyes.

He reached out a hand.

“Where do you feel uncomfortable? Let me have a look.”

Janet froze. She was only making an excuse and did not feel unwell.

However, the man had proffered his hand. She could not hide it anymore and sat up.

“Fine, fine, I’m not unwell and I don’t want to sleep either. Go to sleep if you want to. I’m heading out.”

Following that, she shoved the blanket aside and got up.

Nonetheless, at the next second, she was carried and a warm sensation enveloped her body. She had been tucked under the blanket and the man was lying down with his arms around her.

Janet was furious and yelled. “Liam Jackman!”

Liam shushed her and cooed. “Don’t yell and lie down with me. I promise I won’t do anything to you.”

Janet wanted to struggle, but the man’s arms were like two big metal rods. It was impossible to break free.

She was filled with rage and turned to glower at him.

However, she noticed how fatigued he looked. His eyes were closed and the dark circles beneath them were obvious. She never realized their presence earlier.

He was genuinely tired. As soon as he lay down on the bed, his entire body relaxed. Furthermore, the familiar, pleasant scent from her body calmed his nerves. He failed to hide his exhaustion from her.

Janet stopped herself in time. She wanted to scold him, but she was now like a deflated balloon where her rage vanished into thin air.

She wondered where he went and what he did for the past two days that made him so tired.

Then again, it was not easy.

She could not bring herself to berate him, so she lowered her voice, “Let me go first!”

After that, she struggled again. This time, Liam did let her go, but just for a little bit so that she felt more comfortable. However, escaping his embrace was still out of the question.

Janet tried several ways to flee but failed, so she gave up.

She shifted slightly to turn around. However, this tiny movement caused Liam’s grip to tighten.

Janet gave in and laid in his arms. Soon, she called him in a low voice, “Liam…”

“Eh?”

The man mumbled. He was drained of all energy.

She pursed her lips. A few seconds later, she sighed and said, “It’s alright, go to sleep!”

A curl formed on the man’s lips and the grip around her grew tighter. Then, he went to sleep peacefully.

She thought that this was going to be a long night.

However, less than half an hour later, Janet fell asleep.

In her slumber, she felt something brushing against her face and it felt warm.

After that, she heard Liam’s low voice.

“Jan, don’t ever leave me again.”

Tears started to form in her eyes as she hid her slim face in the pillow. The tears streamed out of her eyes silently. She had no idea whether she was crying out of joy or sorrow.

Nell had only learned on the following day that Janet and Liam were together and they had already registered their marriage.

It was during the day when Janet and Liam came over to pick up Sunny. Nell was surprised by the couple’s appearance. Later, Janet explained their relationship to her.

As they were besties, Nell knew all along that she had fancied Liam and pursued him for years.

Thus, when she heard that they were finally together, she felt happy for them.

However, before her happiness died down, she learned that Sunny was Liam’s son and the man who got Janet pregnant and resulted in her row with her family was also Liam!

This unsettled Nell.
