Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 247

Skylar’s help in putting into perspective snapped Celine out of her thoughts.

Celine mumbled, “Oh, right. I’m still an in-law to the Morton family as long as I remained married to Brother Jay. They won’t just abandon me. Sister Skylar, please help me get Brother Jay through the phone.”

Skylar nodded and walked out.

It did not take long before the phone call ended.

She came in and told Celine, “Young Master Morton and the rest are on their way. He must’ve heard that you’re detained. He said he’s almost here when I called him.”

Celine finally let out a sigh of relief.

She thanked her lucky stars for she was still Mrs. Morton.

Even if Jason no longer loved her, he would not just sit by and watch as she became a criminal for the sake of the Mortons’ good name.

Skylar waited with her for a while and soon, Jason and Thomas arrived at the scene.

The grievance pent up within Celine exploded the moment of their appearance.

With tears brimming in her reddened eyes, she cried out, “Dad! Brother Jay!”

Thomas, bearing the same aloof outlook, nodded.

“You guys should have a chat. Let me head over there and talk with them.”

Jason bobbed his head.

The Morton family had connections in Jincheng after all and due to the delicate position Celine was in, everyone gave them space.

The interrogation room was cleared out to let them speak in private.

Sitting on a chair, Celine released the bottled-up bitterness and grievance through her tears.

Jason took a seat opposite her and stared back rather distantly.

“Do you think that crying will solve anything after creating the mess you made?”

Celine’s chest tightened.

Retracting her tears, she lifted her head and gazed at him amid the teary eyes.

“I’m sorry, Brother Jay. I have caused you trouble. Thank you for saving me. I promise you, I’ll be good from here on out. I won’t ever stir any trouble.”

Jason tauntingly tugged the corner of his lips.

“Here on out?”

He scoffed. “Save it for later. Tell me what’s the situation now.”

Aggrieved, Celine immediately nodded and answered, “Sister Skylar went to make bail but they won’t allow it. Brother Jay, you have to come up with something.”

Jason nodded.

“I can get you out of this but you need to cooperate with me, do you understand?”

Celine was quick to give her word.

“Brother Jay, how do you want me to cooperate? Tell me, I’ll do it.”

Jason sarcastically curled his lips. “Where’s Nell?”

Celine, “...”

As her face saw a change of emotion, Celine heard a buzzing sound in her head and something in her just snapped like an explosion.

Staring at Jason in disbelief, she uttered in a quivering voice, “So, you believe that I hid Nell as well?”

Jason darted a cold stare at her. “I know what kind of a person you are. I’m also aware of how much you hate Nelly. Celine, we’re husband and wife after all. I’ll save you as long as you tell me her whereabouts. What do you think?”

Celine found it absurd.

The jabs she took at Jason faded his handsome face to different shades.

His knuckles made crackling noises while his joints lost color by the tightening grip of his hands.

At last, he took a deep breath and stood up.

Disgust was well visible in his eyes as he looked at the laughing and crying woman collapsed in a heap on the opposite chair.

“Lunatic!”

He then walked out without hesitation.

Jason did not bail Celine out in the end.

Although Skylar was not clear on the situation, she could tell that their relationship was not in the right place.

She had quite the eye. After years in the business, she was best at taking stock of a situation.

As bad as things were, Celine had no one to blame but herself. With the Mortons giving up on her, Skylar, as the manager, was powerless to bail her out even if she wanted to.

Hence, Skylar hastily shared a few words before excusing herself.

Different from how she used to be, Celine looked as though her soul had left her body.

Despite Skylar making a move, Celine did not bother to urge her to stay or ask for help.

She simply sat there with her head hung low and blankly expressed acknowledgment.

Skylar could tell by the looks that Celine was done for, for the rest of her life. She had a bright future ahead of her yet she got tangled in that tiny grudge between them. In the end, it had cost her everything.

Although Skylar put forward a lot of ideas and plans in the schemes, she only wanted the best for Celine. She did not expect Celine to end up this way.

Finally, she helplessly sighed and turned to depart.

Once everyone was gone, two officers came in and escorted her to a temporary cell.
