Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 143

The sight of the child sleeping peacefully warmed Nell’s heart.

She cautiously retrieved her arm to reposition the child comfortably on the bed. The child grabbed onto her arm subconsciously and mumbled, “Mommy!”

Nell froze. Her heart ached.

The child in front of her was overly affectionate. She sat down on the bed again to pat the girl gently on the back. Nell finally retrieved her arm after the little girl fell into deep sleep, not forgetting to turn off the lights before leaving the room.

Old Madam Quinton was standing by the door. She grinned immediately when the woman came walking out.

“Don’t worry, Lizzy’s already asleep. You should have an early rest too.”

The old lady nodded. “You’re a good person, young lady.”

Nell appeared shocked but quickly smoothed away the surprise with a smile.

A good person? She did not agree.

It was true that she felt naturally close to this child. Perhaps it was because the child had been exceptionally enthusiastic toward her on their first encounter!

Nell brushed it off. She went back to her own room after saying goodnight to the old lady.

Over in the master bedroom upstairs, Gideon was crafting a message to the old lady.

Gideon: [What on earth are you doing!]

Old Madam Quinton: [Rascal, keep your mouth shut! I’ll teach you a lesson if you dare say a word!]

Gideon: [Grandma, you could’ve come over casually if you wished to meet Nelly. Why beat around the bush and even bring Lizzy with you? And you actually told Lizzy to lie?]

Old Madam Quinton: [You don’t know anything. Would I have come all the way to test the woman if I trust your judgement? Hmph! How dare you take my kindness with such ill intention! You’re just as heartless as your Dad!]

Gideon: [……]

Why bring up his father all of a sudden?

Gideon: [Well, can you rest assured now that you’ve met her?]

Old Madam Quinton sent a smiley emoji.

Old Madam Quinton: [Yes, completely assured. I’ll tell you this, Nelly is a good lady and don’t you dare bully her. I’ll give you a lashing if I learn about your mistreating her!]

Gideon: [……You better think about how you should explain yourself to her!]

No more messages came from Gideon after that.

The old lady put her phone away as well. She felt somewhat diffident upon thinking of Gideon’s last text.

Nelly was such a tender, understanding, and considerate person. It seemed unlikely that she would blame her!

She felt more anxious the more she tried to convince herself.

Lizzy did not sleep well. She woke up, still in a bit of daze, and extended her little hand toward the old lady who was standing by the door with anxiousness written all over her face.

“Great Nana.”

“Eh? Why’s Lizzy awake?”

Lizzy scanned around the room and pouted when Nell was nowhere in sight. “Where’s Mommy?”

“Mommy’s left to accompany Daddy. Go to sleep. Great Nana will stay here with you, alright?”

Lizzy blinked back.

“Are Mommy and Daddy making a little brother for me?”

“Yes, that’s right. You’ll have a little brother soon.”

“Okay, for the sake of my little brother, I won’t go looking for Mommy.”

However, he could not be asked to argue with the old lady. He turned around to instruct Matthew. “Drop Old Madam and Little Miss at the airport.”

Matthew nodded and quickly returned with the car. He was all smiles when he opened the car door.

“Old Madam, Little Miss, please!”

The old lady glared resentfully at Gideon one last time and gave a snort of contempt before entering the car reluctantly with Lizzy.

Nell received a message from the old lady not long after she arrived at the office.

It explained that they had contacted their family. She told her that they were now on the way to the airport, getting ready to go home.

This caught Nell by surprise but she thought things should be fine since they had contacted family.

They exchanged a few words over the phone. Lizzy promised to visit again by the end of the phone call.

Over in the airport, the old and the young people were just leaving the convenience store when two familiar figures entered their sight.

Lizzy was the first to react. “Grand Aunt!” She shouted before dashing forward in excitement.

Jean turned her head in surprise to find a little pink dumpling running toward herself at the speed of a bolt of lightning.

Shocked, she opened her arms subconsciously to receive the incoming thing. Her eyes widened in astonishment when she finally realized it was Lizzy.

“Lizzy, Mom, why are you here?”

Stephanie, who was standing to the side, also smiled politely. “Hello, Old Madam.”

Old Madam Quinton was also stunned to bump into them. She nodded slightly before shifting her attention back to Jean. “Why are you here? Didn’t you say you’re going abroad for the fashion show? Why are you here in Jincheng?”

Feeling somewhat diffident, Jean struggled to come up with a reply.

Stephanie noticed the awkwardness and quickly attempted a smile. “The fashion show changed its schedule for some reason. We heard about Jincheng’s beautiful scenery and since we have the time, I decided to come over for a visit with Aunt Jean.”
