Vanessa saw Yvonne trying to leave and instinctively grabbed her.
Vanessa couldn't stand Bennett's arrogant demeanor, but since she didn't dare provoke the crown prince of the Thompson family, taking it out on his plaything seemed like a good alternative.
"Did I say you could leave!' Vanessa yelled, grabbing a handful of Yvonne's long hair. 'You bitch, you dare hurt my son? You ask for it!"
Yvonne's scalp stung from the pull. She patiently helped Mrs. Cooper to the side before turning around and kicking Vanessa hard in the knee.
Vanessa cried out in pain, her knee buckled, and she fell to the ground.
Furious, Vanessa started spewing a stream of foul and vicious curses.
Yvonne just stood before her, watching coldly. When she was finished, Yvonne let out a contemptuous sneer and spoke.
"Vanessa, you keep saying my status is low. Does that make you think you're so high and mighty?"
"I am the daughter of the Thompson family!' Vanessa struggled to her feet, pointing a finger in Yvonne's face. 'You bitch! I'll make you pay for crossing me."
"And how are you going to do that? Kill me?' Yvonne laughed coldly. 'This is a country of laws. Never mind that you're just an illegitimate daughter of the Thompson family; not even Frank himself can act like he's above the law."
"I...' Vanessa wanted to declare herself Ms. Thompson again, but Yvonne didn't give her the chance."
"Your grandmother was an illiterate village girl from Eastridge. Your mother was also a village girl, slightly better off with an elementary school education."
