Chapter 488
The office door swung open, and Thomas stepped out.
Elijah had been propping himself against the wall, waiting. The moment he saw his father, he straightened up. “How’d the meeting go, Dadri Elija
asked.
Thomas gave his shoulder a pat. “Great. I’ve got other stuff to take care of. I gotta go.” With that, he walked away briskly
Elijah furrowed his brows, wondering, ‘Great? What does that mean?‘
Cameron emerged from the office too.
“So, Cameron, how’d it go?” Elijah asked.
She nodded. “We made a deal. I’ll have our people handle the rest,”
Elijah looked at her, stunned. He thought, ‘It’s done? Just like that? It has been less than 30 minutes. How on earth did he convince Dad?”
He couldn’t help but ask, “Why did my dad agree to partner with you so quickly?”
Cameron smiled, “That’s my secret.”
Elijah grinned and didn’t push further, even though he was super curious.
Cameron said, “Elijah, I’m heading back to the company. Wanna come?”
“Can I?” he asked.
“Definitely! I couldn’t have landed this huge deal without you. I’ll buy you dinner tonight.”
Elijah smiled, “Sure thing.”
Cameron brought Elijah to the company. She showed him to the meeting room, then went straight to find David.
She told David all about the contract.
David’s eyes popped open. “A magic bullet for leukemia? Mr. Wallace, you’re joking, right?”
Cameron’s face was dead serious. “I’m not.”
“But Mr. Wallace,” David said, “there’s no way we can make a leukemia drug. Five years won’t cut it, not even fifty!”
That way, they’d just be working for the Moore family for nothing.
Cameron said, “Trust me, Mr. Tucker.”
David stared into her eyes. Her gaze was steady, almost reassuring. After a long pause, he nodded. “Okay, Mr. Wallace. I’m with you.”
Cameron was definitely more mature than her peers. Sometimes, even more so than him. And right now, he and Cameron were in the same boat. If one sank, the other would too. All he could do was to trust her.
Cameron smiled, “You’ll take over the rest from here.” She patted David’s shoulder.
Cameron gave Elijah a tour of the company, showing him around so he could get a sense of the layout.

Chapter 488
Elijah smiled, “Cameron, this is really good. Looks like a proper setup.
She grinned. “I think so too.”
This was just the start. Things would only get better.
But Cameron had someone to thank—Samuel. For the 15 million dollars in startup capital she had gotten from him.
Cameron said, “About time for dinner. What do you feel like eating? My treat tonight–order anything you like.”
Elijah chuckled, “I’m not fussy. Whatever you choose is fine.”
They ended up at a chic restaurant.
