She might have never told Scar to hate Jack Fuller, but every time when she “comforts” Scar, she paints another layer of hatred over Scar. Like when Jack Fuller ignores Scar, instead of sitting both of them down and talk it out like a proper mom should, Anna would secretly go to Scar when no one else is around, and say things like, “It’s okay, baby, you still got me.”

If Scar didn’t feel like she had lost her father before, she did hear that from Anna.

When Ava and Scar quarrel, Anna wouldn’t be there to tell them to apologize to each other, as a proper mom would. She would give Scar some gift as “compensation” in front of Ava, and then always, ALWAYS, buy the same thing or more for Ava behind Scar’s back.

Ava hated Scar for having Anna on her side at a quarrel, and Scar hated Ava because Ava would come brag to her face with something better than she got only after a day or two.

When Gabriel took Ava’s side over Scar, Anna didn’t tell him to be equal to his sisters, like how a proper mom would. She would tell Scar that as a big brother who’s a few years older, Gabriel is bound to have his own stuff to do. If someone doesn’t want to play with you, you shouldn’t force them.

Good advice, but not for family.

Five years trapped in a dark hell, Scar finally realizes:

Damian and Sebastian submitted a lot of visit applications during the month Scar was in the city prison, which Scar never agreed to. It turns out, Damian left her a letter, and out of hatred of him, Scar never cared to ask for it, and therefore the prison never give it to her.

Silco found it when he looked into Scar’s past.

In the letter Damian told Scar everything about what happened 20 years ago, admitting to his biggest sin:

He was the one who played with Daddy’s phone and found the message from “Anna”; he was the one who told Emma about their father’s affair; and he was the reason why Emma would drive out in anger with their one year old daughter, only into a car accident.

Except Damian never knew who “Anna” was. It was just a random name to him. But with the brain of a lawyer in the future, he memorized “Anna’s” number and sent mean messages to it with a friends phone. No reply. He called the number later, but it was already out of service.

That was the end of it for Damian, until Scar recognized that number.
