Scar dodges out of the way in the last second.

She doesn’t know how she pulled her shocked stiff body to finish that move, but if she didn’t, the guy would be looking eye to eye with her through the crack between the two doors by now.

She lost the outburst of courage she got burning her fury. All left is her pumping heart with such loud a beat in her chest that she feels like even the guy outside the door could hear. She can’t believe she almost just barged out to have a fight with a rapist when she has no weapon in her hand.

But their plan is heading in the worst direction:

Four guys are on Sebastian, and her life is still very much in danger. There is no way she could escape, or take down this tattooed thug with a bat in his hand.

What now? No one can save her this time.

The guy sticks the bat into the door, pushing them open slightly. Scar holds her breath, backing into the wall, but that’s only inches from the door anyway. Scar grips her fists, weighing between throwing a weak punch that would do nothing to him, or using her fingernails for his eyes.

The guy must know that she’s in here. Because he is not making a reckless move either. That greatly reduces her chance of getting to him.

Scar is in deep regret right now. She spent years stalking Sebastian and all his fencing practices and matches, PAINTING him! When she could have learned one thing or two instead. Her brushes is of no use to her right now, even if she has them.

She decides to try to kick him in the nuts in the end.

It's not easy, but it’s her best shot if she can get him. Holding her breath and moving her legs slightly, Scar tries to set up for the motion when--

A hasty sizzling sound bursts out of the walkie-talkie on his waist.

“Boss?” His bat is still inside the closet, but the call call distracts him. He presses the button and answers.

“We have got them,” A man’s voice comes out, demanding, “Get your ass over here, now!”

Scar’s eyes open wide--

It’s Sebastian’s voice.

The policeman is still not here.

Scar tends to trust that Sebastian did call the police. So why are they not here yet? Does the Fullers really have the energy to pull this off? Buy the police to clear out a battlefield for their evil abduction? Against the king of the city no less?

But if not...

Scar doesn’t want to think in that direction, but Silco is more likely the kind of power that could pull this off.

A cold, dark shadow grabs Scar.

Whoever it is behind this, she needs to survive this to pay it back! Gritting her teeth, Scar stands up with the help of the door.
