People like Eartha completely lacked a conscience.
She punished those who treated her well, yet desperately tried to prove her worth to those who despised her, like her own parents.
Lizetta's eyes were cold. She was done wasting her emotions on this woman.
Eartha simply gave an indifferent nod to the accusation.
"Think what you want. Heh, everyone claims your mother saved me from my ex-husband, but no one knows she was the most hypocritical of them all!"
Lizetta had just resolved not to get angry, but those words sparked a fresh urge to slap her.
Catching Lizetta's expression, Eartha let out a cold laugh.
"My only child was killed by her!"
"You had a child?" Lizetta had never heard this.
Was it a child with Conrad West?
Had they been sleeping together while Elsa was still alive?
As if reading her mind, Eartha gave a mocking smile.
"The child was my ex-husband's. It happened the first time Elsa noticed my bruises and realized I was being abused. Your noble, arrogant mother drove straight to my house, marched up to my ex-husband, slapped him twice, and cursed him out. She really played the hero. But did she think her hollow threats could stop a violent man? That night, I suffered the most brutal beating of my life. My three-month-old baby was literally kicked out of me! There was blood everywhere. By the time I reached the hospital, my uterus was so severely damaged that the doctor told me I could never have children again!"
Eartha's eyes burned with hatred. She crossed her hands over her flat stomach and glared at Lizetta.
