The group exited the main house.

The family members waiting outside had been waiting so impatiently that their eyes were about to pop out when they finally spotted the people inside exiting.

Everyone immediately perked right up and focused their gazes on the group of people walking out.

“There are so many people. We need a megaphone for everyone to hear what Uncle Tony says,” Laurence remarked.

The butler immediately got the hint and went looking for a megaphone. Then he respectfully offered the megaphone to Laurence, but Laurence did not take it. Instead, he signalled to the butler to hand it to Tony.

The butler hurriedly handed the megaphone to Tony instead.

Tony gave the butler a long, dark look before taking it and turning to face the crowd. He cleared his throat, then said in his deep voice, “Everyone, I’m sure you’ve guessed the reason why we’ve called you all here today.

“After ascertaining the authenticity of the heirlooms, we’ve verified that Laurence is the youngest son of the previous family head who went missing that year—the year of the tragic deaths of the previous head and his family. We could not find the little boy then and guessed he had been saved by his nanny.

“We’ve never given up on looking for Laurence, and our prayers have paid off. Now, thirty years later, we’ve finally found him. It turns out that he had returned to us long ago, and we just didn’t know.

“Since Laurence is the family head’s son and has the three heirlooms that symbolize the head’s identity, according to our customs, he is our new family head, our true leader.”

Unlike himself and his son, who were only acting family heads.

“From today onward, we have a head of the family. We’re no longer leaderless, and he’ll take the family to further and greater heights.”
