“Oh, absolutely. My parents are incredibly devoted to each other, and Dad spoils Mom more than anyone. That's why when I eventually marry, I want to find a man just like him.”

Jeanne was well aware that her future husband would have to marry into her family rather than her marrying into his.

In fact, her parents had started scouting the local areas and neighboring cities for eligible young bachelors. They specifically looked for families with multiple sons, knowing that parents with an only one child would rarely agree to let their son marry into another family.

Jeanne had known her destiny since childhood. Unlike Sonny or her older cousins, who constantly complained about not wanting to marry or have kids too soon, she actually hoped to find the right partner soon. Once that was taken care of, she could finally focus entirely on running the family business.

“Don't worry, I’ll keep an eye out for you. If I meet someone with a great character, solid talent, and open-minded parents, I'll introduce him to you.”

Jeanne laughed. “Thanks, Sonny, but you should really focus on yourself first! You’re already in your mid-thirties and still single. Mom and Dad are worried sick about your love life. Every single time Mom calls Aunt Seren, she begs her to set you up on blind dates.”

Sonny found himself speechless. “Hey, look at how busy I am. Where am I supposed to find the time to date? Laurence just called me again today, begging me to fly over because his project plans changed.”

“No matter how much the plans change, he's more than capable of handling it,” Jeanne countered. “Besides, he has Noelle by his side, whereas you don’t have anyone yet. You really need to look out for yourself first. Every time you go over, Laurence just uses it as an excuse to slack off and dump the work on you.”
