Celine said coldly, “Spend this money on nicer clothes. Stop dressing up like an old-fashioned farmer. Oh, but you’re already one. Take the money and get lost. Never, ever, appear before me again.”
After saying her piece, Celine walked to her car and drove off.
Carmen was left crying on the street.
Her biological daughter hated her.
She knew she could not compare to Belinda Fisher. It was all that woman’s fault for snatching her daughter away.
While crying, Carmen picked up the cash and started counting it on the spot.
Her tears gradually stopped flowing as she counted the money.
Celine often had about ten thousand dollars in cash inside her wallet. With a casual throw, Carmen obtained quite a lot of money.
As a farmer’s wife, it was a cash windfall.
She thought of Caroline, who had grown up in her home. The same girl had already become Belinda’s successor and snatched everything that was supposed to be inherited by Celine.
Carmen resented Caroline for that.
She got up and looked toward Fisher Enterprise, which was quite far away. She decided that she would ask Caroline for money.
Regardless of how Caroline was treated by them, the girl could not be ungrateful because they had after all raised her. To Carmen, Caroline was obliged to give them enough money to live a comfortable life.
Interestingly, Celine’s birth family was not struggling financially before the truth about her and Caroline’s switch was unraveled. After all, her biological father, Marc Dott, was the Fishers’ butler. He had a high salary and even occasional bonuses.
However, after the truth was exposed, the Dotts became poor in an instant due to Belinda’s oppression.
The Dotts were fully relying on Celine’s brothers to be the breadwinners. They could only earn several thousand dollars a month and were married. How could they possibly have a surplus for their mother to spend?
Quinn planned to return home for dinner as her house was near the gym, and she preferred eating her three meals at home anyway.
She saw a familiar person when she walked out of the gym.
It was Julian.
“Why are you here, Julian?”
Quinn was pleasantly surprised to see him. She walked toward him with a grin.
Julian was holding many bags, so he could not hug her.
Of course, hugging Quinn was nothing but a passing thought in Julian’s head. He dared not pull her into his arms as there had been hardly any progress between them.
