Handing over the CEO position meant Natalia would be a mere figurehead, a puppet.
She still wouldn't have any real control over Lynch Corporation.
"You're too young and inexperienced. Let him manage the company for now. It will naturally come back to you in a few years," the man on the phone said sternly.
Natalia gritted her teeth, her grip on her phone tightening. She wasn't about to hand over the prize she had just won.
"Sir..." she began, trying to argue her case.
"Enough! The decision is final." With that, he hung up.
Furious, Natalia kicked the table, her breathing ragged.
Why? Why was someone as brilliant as her being controlled by others? If Sir didn't have so much leverage over her, she would never let him push her around like this.
"No..." Natalia clutched her phone.
She couldn't let him hold that power over her for the rest of her life.
She had to find a way to get rid of him.
Her eyes narrowed as an idea formed. She composed herself and dialed Alicia's number.
Hadn't Alicia always wanted to know who the mysterious 'Sir' was?
She would use Alicia to eliminate him.
A smirk spread across her lips as she leaned back against the sofa. "Alicia, Easton has signed the papers. Lynch Corporation is mine now. Thank you for your generous help and persuasion. To show my gratitude, I'd like to treat you to dinner tonight. Are you free?"
"No," Alicia replied flatly.
"Alicia, I have something you want... information about Sir. Are you sure you don't want to hear it?"
Natalia waited, smiling.
There was a long silence on the other end of the line before Alicia spoke. "When and where?"
Natalia laughed. "Seven-thirty tonight. The Shoreline Restaurant."
She stared at Micah in shock. She never imagined that Sir would send him to take over Lynch Corporation.
No one in their circle was a stranger to Micah. He was the illegitimate son of the Quinn family, the one person that Sean Quinn, president of The Quinn Group, refused to ever speak of—his uncle, who was a full eight years younger than him.
He was Sean Quinn's father's own brother.
Micah was the product of a late-in-life affair, born when Sean's grandfather was in his seventies, staying at a care facility in Vesperia, and had a child with a young nurse. The child was a disgrace to the Quinn family, so Micah was raised in Vesperia. After Sean's grandfather passed away, the Quinns offered him no help whatsoever.
But everyone in the business world knew the man who had clawed his way to the top of Wall Street through sheer grit and ruthlessness was an absolute force to be reckoned with.
Back when Tyrone had single-handedly saved Lynch Corporation and brought it to the pinnacle of the national business world, people used to joke that if Tyrone of Harboridge City ever teamed up with Micah of Wall Street, everyone else might as well retire early.
"Micah?" A buzz erupted among the senior management.
Micah Quinn was taking over Lynch Corporation? Setting aside any loyalty to the Maddox family, who could possibly object?
This was a man they couldn't even dream of hiring, and he had just walked in and offered to take the helm.
