Rich Radiant and Over Him (Alicia and Vincent) novel Chapter 462

Alicia sat frozen, shock and silence rendering her speechless for a long time.

The rift between Tyrone and Sean Quinn—maybe she’d been naïve to think it was simple.

If her uncle had truly loved her sister that much, how could he have poured all his resentment and bitterness onto the child she left behind?

Sean Quinn, of course, knew there had to be more to the story—Tyrone killing his sister, wounding himself. There were always secrets beneath the surface.

Yet after all these years, Sean had never told Tyrone why he’d sent him to the psychiatric hospital back then. Not once had he tried to explain.

“Why... didn’t you just tell him?” Alicia’s voice was barely above a whisper as she turned to Sean.

If they’d talked, if the truth had come out, maybe things wouldn’t have disintegrated like this. Now, they treated each other with cold politeness, not enemies exactly, but little more than strangers.

“Because this is the best outcome possible,” Sean replied quietly, certain Alicia would understand.

The people working in the shadows didn’t only target the Lynches and the Whites; the Quinns were in their crosshairs too. Turning the Quinns against the Lynches was exactly what their enemies wanted.

So, for him to break with Tyrone and refuse to help when Tyrone’s world fell apart—that was exactly the result those people were aiming for.

Alicia drew a deep breath and stared out the car window.

What kind of person could orchestrate so many schemes, manipulating four powerful families, weaving their plans in secret for years on end?

“At this point,” Alicia said softly, “the only one of the four families that hasn’t suffered much is the Edwards family...” Suspicion crept into her voice.

“I’ve had people watching the Edwards family closely for the past twenty years,” Sean replied, his tone measured. “Back then, the family patriarch was a sly old fox. Apart from swooping in to snatch a couple major business deals when the Lynches, Whites, and Quinns were in chaos, he kept himself squeaky clean. No one could pin anything on him.”

He paused, glancing at Alicia. “Then, while still in his prime, he retired suddenly—handed over control of everything to his son, Connor Edwards, and stepped into the background. Officially, he’s been living quietly in the countryside with his young wife, enjoying retirement.”

Alicia blinked, pulling herself back to the present and meeting Tyrone’s anxious gaze. “The doctor said—” She started.

“Promise me you’ll put yourself first!” Tyrone blurted out, gripping her hands tightly. “No matter what the doctor says, you come first. Always.”

Alicia rolled her eyes, half exasperated, half amused. “What are you thinking? Everything’s perfect—the baby’s healthy, all the tests are fine. Once we hit the due date, we’ll just schedule the delivery and welcome our little one.”

Tyrone let out a long sigh of relief. “I thought something was wrong—you looked so worried.”

“I invited my uncle over for dinner tonight,” Alicia said, softening as she reached up to cup Tyrone’s cheek. “And Aunt Yvonne just arrived from out of town for her own maternity leave. Mr. Lynch, would you do us the honor of joining us for dinner?”

Tyrone narrowed his eyes in mock suspicion. “So this is how it is now? You just make all the decisions and tell me after the fact? I don’t have any authority left in this house, do I?”

Alicia giggled and threw her arms around his neck, clinging to him. “Husband... won’t you please join us for dinner?”
