How was Naomi feeling?
Absolutely terrible.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawson also looked furious.
"What is the meaning of this? Is that girl Mignon trying to embarrass our Naomi on purpose?!"
Timothy, lounging nearby, remarked nonchalantly, "Maybe Anastasia has her own relationship with them. Mom, you can't expect the Hill family to swear off all other women just because they turned down a marriage with Naomi. That's a bit unreasonable."
"Reasonable? Since when have you been so reasonable? Your sister is the one who's been wronged!" Mrs. Lawson snapped.
Timothy just chuckled, his expression lazy and unreadable, and didn't reply.
With her eyes red, Naomi silently returned to her room.
Mrs. Lawson followed her, concerned. "Naomi, don't worry, I'll contact the Hill family again—"
"Mom, don't," Naomi interrupted. "You know the man I love isn't named Lester."
Seeing her daughter like this broke Mrs. Lawson's heart. It was true. The man she loved was Harrison, but he had already chosen another woman.
Her daughter was so outstanding, so proud. Why did she have to suffer so much?
Mrs. Lawson felt a surge of indignation but could only say, "There are plenty of fish in the sea, Naomi. Let him go! Mom will help you find someone else—"
"No," Naomi refused firmly. "Mom, I can't give up like this. I have to try one more time. If it doesn't work out this time, then I'll finally accept it."
