From her reaction, everyone knew that what Anastasia said was true.
"How could someone like her exist!" Emily exclaimed in disgust.
To fake a pregnancy and then use it to frame someone else—it was a level of malice that was hard to comprehend.
Anastasia calmly continued, "After I discovered this, I couldn't understand it. Why would you fake a pregnancy, Mrs. Young? Was it simply to win Mr. Lancaster's sympathy, to get back to his side and continue living your old life? That seems plausible enough."
A flicker of hope appeared in Susan's eyes. She was about to confess to that motive, but before she could speak, Anastasia went on.
"But why use this non-existent child to frame me? Was it really, as you claimed, just to make me feel indebted to you? Puzzled by this, I accidentally stumbled upon a very big secret."
At these words, a cold dread washed over Susan, and sweat beaded on her back.
"What... what are you talking about... What secret could I possibly have..."
Anastasia's smile was laced with ice. "Yes, what is this secret you've worked so hard to hide? But I won't be the one to reveal it. I think it would be more persuasive coming from your ex-husband."
The mention of Boris made Susan's face contort in horror.
Why would she bring up Boris? Could Anastasia really know?!
But she quickly forced herself to calm down. No, Boris wouldn't get the chance to speak. The people she had sent should have already...
"Susan, you bitch!"
A familiar voice, filled with hatred and viciousness, suddenly echoed through the room.
