Anastasia didn’t believe him. A minor issue wouldn't have him working overtime for three days straight.
She pressed, “What kind of small problem?”
Harrison sighed, realizing he had to tell her. “Someone leaked confidential company information, so one of our current projects is facing some trouble.”
He said it casually, but even Anastasia, who didn't know much about business, understood the gravity of the situation.
Every project at the Lancaster Group was worth hundreds of millions, if not billions. If Harrison was personally overseeing it, the stakes were likely even higher!
A security breach like this would lead to massive complications.
“Is the problem solved now?” she asked anxiously.
“Almost,” Harrison replied.
“Really?”
Seeing her skepticism, Harrison smiled and stroked her head. “The company had a backup plan, so the leak didn't have a major impact. I’ve just been cleaning house these past few days.”
This project was of utmost importance, which was why he was personally in charge. Consequently, the security clearance for related information was extremely high; not just anyone could access it.
That meant the person who leaked the information had to be one of his trusted subordinates.
As he comforted the woman in his arms, a faint smile still played on Harrison's lips, but his eyes were like ice.
When Anastasia heard his explanation, her heart skipped a beat. “A trusted subordinate? Don’t tell me it was…”
Harrison saw the panic on her face and knew exactly who she was thinking of. He chuckled. “It wasn’t Logan. He would never betray me.”
Anastasia breathed a sigh of relief.
