"Just do it," Harrison said coldly.
Downstairs, Logan held his phone, his eyes instinctively landing on Anastasia as she bounded down the stairs, her face alight with joy, pulling Benson along with her. He instantly understood his employer's meaning. This wasn't about protecting her from danger; it was about monitoring what she was up to.
"...Yes, Mr. Lancaster."
Anastasia reached the bottom of the stairs, called for Juliet, and the three of them headed for the long-unused game room. Rosewood Manor hadn't originally had one; Harrison had it built after she arrived, thinking it was something a girl her age might enjoy. But games were only fun with company, and Harrison was always too busy with work to play with her, so she usually just played on her phone, leaving the room practically untouched.
But now, finally, she had a chance to use it.
Logan followed them in discreetly, flicking on the lights and activating the ventilation and climate control. "It's been a while since anyone's been in here, Madam. It might be a bit stuffy. Would you like to wait outside for a few minutes?"
Anastasia took a breath. "No, it's fine. It's not that bad." She settled cross-legged on the carpet with her cousins and asked Logan to bring them some snacks and drinks.
Logan nodded. As he reached the door, he heard Benson ask, with no attempt to be subtle, "Did you marry him of your own free will?"
Logan froze. *So that's why Mr. Lancaster is so on guard.* No wonder.
