The Global Harmony Medical Institute was an imposing building, styled to echo the grandeur of old-world architecture, and exuded both luxury and authority.
Anastasia was there to check in for the term. Once she’d finished the paperwork, she was free to leave—no classes today, no need to socialize. She didn’t bother seeking anyone out. As soon as her registration was confirmed, she headed straight for the exit.
After all, her husband was still waiting for her outside.
As she stepped out, she caught a glimpse of Lauren being ushered into the Brennan family’s car. They didn’t even bother taking her inside the Institute; the paparazzi that had been swarming the entrance were starting to disperse.
Narrowing her eyes, Anastasia watched the Brennan car drive away. Then, flanked by security, she made her way back to Harrison’s waiting car.
“All done, sweetheart. Let’s go home,” she said, her face lighting up as soon as she saw him.
“Everything settled?” Harrison’s stern features softened the moment she returned to his side. He squeezed her delicate hand, their fingers fitting together as if by instinct.
“All done!” Anastasia nodded.
Harrison looked up at the driver. “Let’s head back.”
The car pulled away from the curb.
Harrison gave her hand another squeeze, his voice calm but laced with a hint of warning. “Lauren left with the Brennans.”
Anastasia immediately understood his meaning. Today’s scene at the Institute’s gates had caused a public embarrassment for Lauren. In the end, Lauren hadn’t even set foot inside—she’d simply been whisked away, forced to retreat.
With Lauren sent home in disgrace, was it possible she wouldn’t go crying to the family?
Harrison was worried the Brennans might try to defend Lauren and blame Anastasia, which could upset her. He was giving her a gentle heads-up, so she’d be prepared.
