Revenge is My Love Language novel Chapter 297

The moment those words left Shirley’s mouth, the room fell silent.

Maggie couldn’t hold back her anger. “Anastasia didn’t do anything wrong! Why should she be the one apologizing to Penelope?”

Juliet looked just as furious, her face pale with outrage. “Penelope, you know what you’ve done! How can you even ask my cousin to apologize to you?”

Penelope’s cheeks lost all color. She didn’t bother to defend herself, just looked at Shirley with a pitiful expression. “It’s fine... let’s just forget about it.”

She looked as though she’d suffered some terrible injustice, but was bravely swallowing it down.

Anastasia rolled her eyes, unimpressed. “Oh, drop the innocent act. Who in this room doesn’t know what you’re really like? The footage from the freshman party is still all over the forums, you know! Who exactly are you trying to fool with this little Miss Perfect routine?”

Penelope froze, her composure cracking for a split second. She glanced around, and sure enough, everyone was staring at her—some openly scornful, others barely hiding their mocking smirks. But with Shirley’s intimidating presence, no one dared to mock her out loud.

“Enough!” Shirley snapped, fixing her glare on Anastasia. “Cut the nonsense. Anastasia, I want you to apologize. Now.”

Anastasia’s smile vanished as she met Shirley’s gaze, cool and defiant. “You want me to apologize? To you? Or to her? You think you deserve it?”

In that instant, Anastasia’s presence was so commanding that even Shirley faltered.

Shirley’s cheeks flushed in frustration. To her, Anastasia was nothing but a country bumpkin—pretty enough, but that was it. Shirley, on the other hand, was the pride of Riverton. How could Anastasia possibly intimidate her?

Yet for a moment, Shirley genuinely felt outmatched, and the shock only made her angrier. “Whether you think I deserve it or not isn’t your call,” she spat. “Today, I’m not just demanding an apology. I want you on your knees, apologizing!”

Anastasia let out a cold laugh, arms crossed and utterly unmoved. “Go ahead. Try me.”

With that, she swept out, Penelope and the others trailing behind.

“What are we going to do, Anastasia?” Maggie’s voice trembled with worry.

Juliet was just as upset. “This is outrageous! Penelope’s the one who’s been scheming against my cousin all along. Why should you be the one apologizing?”

Anastasia, in contrast, remained perfectly calm. She didn’t seem rattled in the slightest—instead, she tugged her friends toward the cafeteria line, determined to stick to their plan of trying out the new dining hall.

Maggie gaped at her in disbelief. “How can you even think about food right now?”

Anastasia just shrugged, completely unfazed. “Why wouldn’t I? I had to beg my hubby on the phone to let me stay on campus after class instead of heading home, and he finally agreed to come get me later tonight. If I don’t eat now, all that sweet-talking was for nothing!”
