Revenge is My Love Language novel Chapter 255

Lady’s face blanched. “What’s going on?!”

Alice burst into tears. “It was Anastasia—she’s the one who did this!”

Lady’s expression darkened instantly. “Tell me exactly what happened. Start from the beginning!”

“It’s all my fault…” Alice sobbed. “At school, I overshadowed Anastasia. She couldn’t stand me, so she wants to kick me out of Rosewood Manor… My mom went to beg her for mercy, but not only did Anastasia refuse, she humiliated my mom in front of everyone—she demanded my mom kneel and grovel for forgiveness… Lady, please come back! My mom’s still in the hospital, unconscious. The doctors say the injury on her forehead is serious…”

Lady hung up, her face grim. She turned and gave a sharp order.

“Get the car. We’re going home!”

She’d thought Anastasia was a decent girl. Clearly, she’d misjudged her!

How long had she even been gone? And already everything was falling apart.

Mary had been with her for years—and Mary’s late husband had once saved Lady’s life. As for Alice, she’d practically grown up at Rosewood Manor, almost like a granddaughter. What on earth was Anastasia playing at?

Was she planning to tear the roof off Rosewood Manor next?

Even if she could make Harrison smile, Lady would never tolerate such outrageous behavior!

At the apartment.

Harrison had barely stepped through the door before he was called out again on business.

Anastasia sat alone, gliding her wheelchair back and forth in the quiet living room, when her phone suddenly rang. It was a call from Rosewood Manor. Lady was back, and she was being summoned to return at once.

Anastasia’s eyelid twitched. “Grandmother’s home?”

She knew Lady had left to stay at a convent for a while.

The moment they entered the living room, it was obvious: Lady had indeed returned, seated stiffly on the sofa, her expression icy.

In front of Lady, Mary sat with her head wrapped in bandages, her eyes red and swollen from crying. Alice hovered behind her, looking as if she’d just been terribly wronged—a pitiful picture.

As soon as Anastasia entered, Lady’s eyes snapped to her, the look in them cutting and cold.

Clearly, Mary and Alice had gotten in their version of events first.

Anastasia’s face remained serene. She greeted her politely: “Good afternoon, Grandmother.”

“You’re back?” Lady’s tone was frosty.

“Yes. May I ask what you’ve called me home for?” Anastasia replied, ignoring Mary’s haggard, miserable appearance as if she hadn’t seen her at all.

“You really don’t know?” Lady’s gaze was sharp as knives. She slammed her cane hard against the floor. “I was still at the convent when I got a call—Mary’s in the hospital, in critical condition. They said you were responsible!”
