Revenge is My Love Language novel Chapter 253

Anastasia didn’t even flinch. Instead, she flashed a dazzling smile.

“If Mary loves kneeling so much, let her stay just like that!”

She nodded to the bodyguard, signaling him to push her away.

That single gesture was enough to ignite the righteous anger of the onlookers.

A young man stepped in front of her, blocking her path with outrage. “How can someone be as cruel as you? Are you just going to let that woman kneel here forever?”

Anastasia’s eyes turned cold, and she let out a soft, mocking laugh. “Did I tell her to kneel?”

She didn’t wait for him to answer. Curling her lips into a sneer, she continued, “You people are unbelievable. What exactly have I done? Wasn’t she the one who ran up and threw herself in my way? Wasn’t she the one who dropped to her knees, begging? Didn’t I just tell someone to help her up?”

“So I do nothing, but just because I won’t give in to her demands, suddenly everything’s my fault?”

The young man faltered, anger stalling in his throat.

A hush fell over the crowd, who had been whispering and pointing, their accusations dying off for a moment.

But the young man quickly found his voice again. “You call that nothing? We all heard what she said! She’s desperate, begging for her daughter’s future—and you sit there, lording your power over her! How could she even dare to get up?”

A few others in the crowd piped up in agreement. “Exactly! Treating someone like this and then claiming you’ve done nothing?”

Anastasia cut them off sharply. “You people are unbelievable. Do any of you actually know what’s really going on?”

She turned to the young man, her tone biting. “If I went over and slapped your mother across the face, then demanded forgiveness, you’d just let it go, right? Otherwise, I suppose you’d accuse me of using my position to bully you instead?”

The young man’s face froze.

Anastasia scoffed. “You all just take one side of the story and run with it. Did you leave your brains at home today?”

The self-appointed defenders of justice had no retort.

His face remained impassive. “Wear your mask when you’re outside.”

Just moments ago, he’d left his mark on her in the hospital room—a kiss that still lingered on her lips and left a trace of color in her cheeks, though she seemed oblivious to it.

But he saw it, and it clearly didn’t please him.

Anastasia had no idea what was going through his mind. She just nodded obediently, “Okay.”

Seeing her so compliant, Harrison’s expression finally softened a little. He glanced at the people nearby, his eyes briefly landing on Mary, his tone icy. “What’s going on here? Hmm?”

“Mr. Lancaster…”

Mary had scrambled up the moment Harrison appeared. Now, she kept her head low, all the bravado she’d shown before vanishing in his presence. Even the two words she managed to whisper were tinged with unmistakable fear.

Anastasia spoke coolly. “Mary was just on her knees, begging me to show mercy to her and her daughter—saying that kicking Alice out of our house was too cruel. I didn’t agree, so she refused to get up.”
