Anastasia nodded. “Of course.”
The assistant hurried away.
Anastasia sat down across from the man.
Looking at him, Anastasia spoke up. “May I ask your name?”
The man hesitated for a moment before replying, “My surname is West.”
Anastasia smiled. “I don’t usually come around here, but I’ve been visiting more frequently lately. It’s such a coincidence to run into you every time, Mr. West.”
As she made small talk, she wondered to herself who this Mr. West might be connected to and why he was trying to get close to her.
—Although she had no proof, Anastasia had a strong feeling that her encounters with this Mr. West were no coincidence.
With her complicated background and Harrison’s high-profile status, she had to be vigilant about everything.
After asking his name, she subtly tried to probe for more information, but Mr. West was guarded, and his words revealed nothing amiss.
Ten minutes later, the assistant returned.
The man took the medicine she brought, but even after some time, he didn't seem to feel any better.
The assistant said worriedly, “Sir, perhaps we should go to the hospital.”
The man agreed.
But his driver was out on an errand and wouldn’t be back for a while.
The assistant turned to Anastasia with an embarrassed look. “Ms. Sterling, would it be possible to borrow your car?”
