Revenge is best served cold novel Chapter 63

Chapter 63 Unlucky

Jack was so angry he laughed. “I’m your brother, and you want me to apologize to you? Jane, are you out of your mind? The only people who can make me bow my head are Mom, Dad, and Elsa. What makes you think you have the right to boss me around?”

Even though I already knew his true nature, hearing him say this still made my heart sting. He only cared about Mom, Dad, and Elsa. As for me, his biological sister, I was just someone he could casually insult

I must have been incredibly unlucky to have such a brother.

Thankfully, I had already severed ties with him. If I hadn’t, who knew how arrogant he would have become? I took a deep breath, suppressing the rage rising in my chest. Then, I gritted my teeth and sneered.

“Stop flattering yourself. You’re not my brother! A real brother would always stand by me, but your mind is completely occupied with Elsa. How dare you say such things to me?

“You two better get out of here. This is my home, and you have no right to cause a scene! I made myself very clear earlier if you continue shouting, I won’t hesitate to call the police and make this situation even bigger!”

Jack was so angry he turned pale. He had planned to say more, but Elsa pulled him away.

She looked at me with sympathy, but there was a hidden sense of schadenfreude and satisfaction in her eyes. “Jane, since you’re so stubborn, we won’t try to persuade you anymore. I hope you’ll keep your promise from earlier.”

With that, she dragged Jack away.

Before they left, I caught a glimpse of Jack’s defiant gaze.

Elsa could calm him down with just a word, whereas everything I said only sounded like excuses for him.

“I remember making an agreement with you. If Dad lost, I’d cover the losses. But if he made a profit, you’d have to apologize. I believe it’s time for you to fulfill your promise now, right?”

Instantly, Jack’s and Elsa’s expressions grew even darker.

Elsa bit her lip and clutched the hem of her clothes, saying in a wronged tone, “Jane, we’re family, so we don’t need to be so formal about these things, right? Besides, when we tried to warn you, it was only because we didn’t want you to suffer. We were looking out for you!”

Ha, looking gout for me?

It seemed like she was now saying whatever suited the situation.
