Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James) novel Chapter 1900

Jenna looked at him, pressing her lips together but staying silent. For the next few days, she was as quiet as a mouse, not saying a word to him. Adler often found himself watching her from the sidelines.

Jenna was a powerhouse, channeling all her energy into training. She could kick a training post thousands of times a day without breaking a sweat. Meanwhile, Adler was more laid-back, often sneaking glances at Jenna working out under the sun.

"How does she keep going like that? Doesn't she ever get bored?" Adler mused aloud. He couldn't wrap his head around it. Weren't girls supposed to be into dolls and dresses?

But Jenna was a different breed. She'd chopped off her long locks for a neat, short haircut and dedicated herself to training relentlessly. She was kicking those posts both awake and in her dreams.

Lennon watched from a distance, a satisfied smile playing on his lips. "That girl has way more drive than you," he remarked.

"Really? I'm here every day too," Adler countered.

"Yeah, here for the free lunch," Lennon teased, giving Adler a playful smack on the back of the head.

Adler winced, gasping, "Easy there, Grandpa!"

"Don't think I don't know you call me 'old man' behind my back."

Adler grinned sheepishly. "You're my favorite grandpa, promise."

Ignoring Adler's cheeky comeback, Lennon watched Jenna and said, "That girl works hard. You better watch out, in a few years, she might just outshine you."

"No way!" Adler said confidently. "Look at her, she's so tiny and barely trained! Plus, how could a girl ever beat me?"

He thought back to an opponent he'd once defeated effortlessly, someone who never fought again.

Adler paused and let Jenna land a solid kick. She put everything she had into it.

Adler's eyes widened. He never imagined a girl could pack such a punch. That kick knocked the wind right out of him.

"Cough, cough! Stop! I give up! Ugh..."

Adler groaned, clutching his stomach. "I'm done, no more!"

Though he was partly putting on a show, he peeked at Jenna's face. Seeing that flicker of happiness in her eyes, he felt a little proud. At least she wasn't in tears.
