After getting up, Juniper leaped into the air until he reached a height parallel to Sebastian, less than six feet away. His gaze was razor-sharp, like twin blades that could penetrate other's minds.
"I didn't plan on stepping in," Juniper said condescendingly. "But you're too arrogant, brat. I have no choice but to teach you a lesson."
Even though Sebastian had shown some impressive skill earlier, he still regarded him as nothing more than a speck of dust.
Sebastian smiled wryly upon hearing that. "You're too full of yourself."
"How dare you!" Juniper exploded with anger. A terrifying wave of killing intent surged from him, and flames flickered in the depths of his eyes.
The younger crowd felt a sudden chill of fear as their hearts raced with dread.
Stephanie's expression changed as worry etched across her features.
Enrique and Roman sat up straight and frowned with a solemn expression.
In the martial world, reputation was everything. Juniper was renowned and recognized as the number one talent in South Mount and the best of the younger generation. His strength instilled fear in most elder cultivators.
Enrique and Roman worried that Sebastian might have said something to provoke Juniper. If that happened, it wouldn't just be a simple lesson, and the consequences could be dire.
The disciples of the three major sects quickly mocked Sebastian.
"This Sebastian really has no sense of self-preservation. How dare he talk to Mr. Gaudium like that?"
"He probably has no idea how strong Mr. Gaudium is. If he got serious, one move would be enough to knock him flat."
"Exactly. Sebastian thinks he's impressive after a few victories. But in front of Mr. Gaudium, his so-called strength means nothing."
