Sebastian couldn't be bothered to engage with Ramiro and instead stood with Stephanie behind Roman.
Though there were many seats available, they were reserved for the esteemed guests, and the younger generation wasn't qualified to sit.
However, Ramiro and Deimante were exceptions. Despite being students, their high status meant the academy held them in great regard.
Sebastian scanned the room. Around 20 academy students had arrived, all possessing considerable strength. Besides Ramiro and Deimante, there were three one-star demigods, and the rest were pinnacle divine grandmasters.
Shortly after, the new dean made his appearance. He was a middle-aged man with a handsome face and an air of scholarly elegance, wearing a gentle smile.
Despite his refined demeanor, everyone knew better than to underestimate him. After all, anyone appointed as the dean had to be formidable.
"The Gaudium Sect's Sect Leader has arrived with his apprentices," someone announced.
Just as the new dean, Enrique Styles, made his entrance, members of the Gaudium Sect—one of the four major sects—arrived.
It was almost as if they had timed it perfectly. A middle-aged man in a long robe walked in, followed by a group of young men and women, each exuding an extraordinary presence.
Sebastian felt a twinge of disappointment, as neither Lillian, Gina, nor Bruce—who were all training at the Gaudium Sect—had come.
"Mr. Styles, congratulations," Gage Gaudium, the Gaudium Sect's leader, greeted with a warm smile.
Enrique quickly stood and returned the greeting, saying, "Mr. Gaudium, your presence here honors our academy. Please have a seat."
"It doesn't seem like there's going to be any immediate confrontation," Sebastian muttered to himself.
A woman in a yellow robe beside him whispered, "Gage is known for his 'sharp smile.' Even when facing his worst enemies, he keeps smiling but can take a life with ease in the middle of a conversation."
Sebastian nodded in understanding, realizing that someone like Gage was indeed dangerous.
