Ahead of them lay a cave entrance that was less than six feet high and covered in vines. Bellamy took the lead and entered the cave, with the others following closely behind.
Once inside, they discovered that the cave's interior was much more spacious than they had imagined. In the center, there was a deep crevice in the ground.
When they peered down, they couldn't see the bottom, as if it extended endlessly into an abyss, creating an overwhelming sense of pressure.
Bellamy looked up at everyone and said, "According to the map, this should be the entrance to the Perpetual Empire."
The group took out their Ninefold Griffin Amulets in unison. They exchanged glances and then nodded at each other before simultaneously channeling their energy into the amulets.
As the Ninefold Griffin Amulets absorbed the energy, they began to emit a blinding light, so bright that no one could keep their eyes open.
Immediately, the ground started to shake violently, causing the entire cave to tremble. Rocks and debris fell from the ceiling, making everyone feel uneasy.
Being deep within a mountain, they knew that if the cave collapsed, they'd be crushed no matter how powerful they were.
Fortunately, the tremors lasted only a few seconds. Once they ceased, a portal of light appeared within the crevice.
This portal was identical to the two that Sebastian had encountered previously. It seemed evident that passing through it would lead them directly into the Perpetual Empire.
The others also realized this and became visibly excited. Bellamy, in particular, was the most eager.
No one desired to enter the Perpetual Empire more than he did, as his life force was nearing its end. Only within the Perpetual Empire could he hope to find a way to extend it.
Lorenzo said, "This must be the portal described in ancient texts. Once we step through, we'll enter the Perpetual Empire and attain eternal life!"
Despite his words, no one dared to take the first step.
