Sebastian locked eyes with Isaac. There was a mocking smile on his face.
Given his current strength, Isaac was nothing more than a mere annoyance. The only reason Sebastian hadn't killed him yet was due to the blood ritual.
During his time in Coreland, Sebastian learned a great deal, especially about alchemy, formations, and various types of restrictions. He gained some insight into the blood ritual, realizing it was a unique restriction formed from a person's life essence and energy.
If he killed Isaac now, it might indeed trigger some form of divine punishment, which was why Sebastian chose to bide his time. He planned to wait until the entrance to the Perpetual Empire was opened when the restriction would vanish.
Then, he would make sure to put an end to this old dog and avenge his fallen brothers.
Isaac glared at Sebastian with gritted teeth, his fists clenching so tightly that his knuckles cracked. The thought of his grandson's tragic death made him want to tear Sebastian apart.
Just then, Bruce stepped forward to stand beside Sebastian, his gaze as sharp as ice.
Isaac immediately recoiled. The reason he hadn't sought revenge against Sebastian earlier was that he knew Bruce had joined Sebastian at the Bailey residence.
Isaac believed that he could handle Sebastian alone, but with Bruce—a warrior equal to him in strength—on Sebastian's side, it would be an exercise in futility.
If Isaac wanted to avenge his grandson, he'd need Bellamy's help. However, with the blood ritual still in effect, Bellamy wouldn't intervene.
Hence, Isaac didn't dare act impulsively on his own.
Sensing the tension, Bellamy stepped forward with a smile to diffuse the situation. "Going to the Perpetual Empire is an extraordinary opportunity. Once inside, we have the chance to attain immortality.
"Whatever disagreements we've had in the past pale in comparison to that goal. Let's put our differences aside and work together to open the entrance."
Lorenzo nodded in agreement. "The Holy Priest is right. Now that everyone's here, let's proceed."
