As Sebastian and his group approached the entrance of Knott Estate, a woman suddenly blocked their path.
She was dressed in a colorful gown, with a veil partially hiding her stunning beauty—it was Kaitlyn, the distinguished lady of the Netherworld Sect.
"Ms. Gardner, is there something you need from me?" Sebastian asked.
"Are you heading to the engagement banquet?" Kaitlyn inquired.
Sebastian nodded.
"I've received word that the Stonebrook family plans to kill you at the banquet. Going there now is like walking into a trap," Kaitlyn warned.
"You've been waiting here just to tell me this?" Sebastian asked with a smile.
"Don't flatter yourself. I just happened to run into you and thought I'd give you a friendly warning," Kaitlyn replied.
"I didn't expect you to care so much about me. Could it be that you've fallen for me?" Sebastian teased.
"Keep dreaming." Kaitlyn scoffed and turned to leave.
Hendrick said, "Mr. Wilder, if Ms. Gardner says so, then it's surely true. Why don't we turn back?"
"That's right, Mr. Wilder. There's always hope as long as you're alive. With your talent, you're destined to become a peerless force in the future. Just bide your time," Abigail added, trying to persuade him.
"My mind is made up. No more advice, please," Sebastian said firmly.
The father and daughter both sighed and shook their heads, thinking Sebastian was marching to his doom. All they could probably do now was retrieve his body afterward, they thought.
Inside Knott Estate, the atmosphere was festive and filled with guests.
As a local powerhouse, the Netherworld Sect had shown great respect by sending Korbin and his daughter to personally attend and offer their congratulations.
As one of the main figures of the day, Heather was overjoyed. After all, by the end of today, she would be the future daughter-in-law of the Stonebrook family—who would dare to cross her then?
