"What?"
Korbin's mouth dropped in shock. The others were also dumbfounded, frozen in disbelief.
Martin had stormed in angrily, ready to seek retribution, but who could have imagined that after just a few words, he'd propose to marry off his daughter to Sebastian? What kind of bizarre twist was this?
"Dad, what are you talking about?"
Heather panicked. In her eyes, Sebastian was nothing more than a lowly peasant. How could he possibly be worthy of her?
She had assumed Martin was here to avenge her, not to throw her into the fire.
Korbin said with a smile, "Mr. Knott, you must be joking. Your daughter is a noblewoman, and she's very beautiful as well. On the other hand, Sebastian is just a disciple from the Netherworld Sect. How could he be worthy of her?"
Martin said, "I have no choice. This is the only way to preserve my daughter's reputation."
"Dad, I don't agree!"
Heather was fuming.
Martin pulled her aside and whispered, "Heather, listen to me. I would never harm you. That fella made the Netherworld Bell ring seven times. He's an absolute prodigy with limitless potential, and his future is boundless!"
Heather scoffed, "I refuse to believe he's some kind of prodigy. The bell must've malfunctioned."
Martin laughed as he said, "I understand you're skeptical, but the Netherworld Bell hasn't malfunctioned once in all these years. Anyone who can ring it four times has the potential to become a top-level expert."
"He's just a low-born peasant!" Heather said in disgust.
