Stephanie felt a strange blend of anger and humor after hearing these people slander the Supreme One.
Without noticing anything off, Bryn glared at Sebastian, who was still seated. "Ms. Branch is here, and you’re still sitting there? Get down here, loser."
A sharp slap sounded just as she finished her sentence. Everyone was left speechless.
She clutched her stinging cheek and stared at Stephanie in disbelief. She shouted, "Why did you hit me?"
"You're as blind as a bat. You deserved it!" Stephanie shot back coldly.
"You…" Bryn pointed at Stephanie, and her whole body trembled with rage.
But when she caught the murderous look in Stephanie's eyes, she quickly dropped her hand. She knew Stephanie might only be an assistant, but behind her stood the Supreme One, a power she dared not offend.
Gaius was still oblivious to the situation, so he pointed at Sebastian and spat, "Look what you've done to Ms. Branch! Aren't you ashamed? Get down here and apologize to her!"
Stephanie raised her hand again and slapped him.
"Ms. Branch, what's this for?" He was torn between anger and outrage.
She turned to the crowd and pointed at Sebastian. "So, you all think he deserves to be executed?"
Leila was the first to step forward. "Absolutely! He's arrogant beyond belief, looks down on every one of us, and even dares to impersonate the Supreme One. He deserves the harshest punishment!"
Lila nodded in agreement. "Ms. Jarvis is right. Even though he is my ex-husband, his crimes this time are too serious to forgive."
Emmet and Roscoe both nodded in unison. "That’s right. Disrespecting the Supreme One warranted a death sentence. He has to be executed!"
"Silence!" Stephanie snapped and strode toward him. She raised her hands and delivered two resounding slaps.
"Ms. Branch, why did you hit me?" Emmet felt a rush of anger and felt aggrieved.
She stepped forward, and her gaze swept over the crowd. "All of you are just blind fools who fail to see the remarkable presence standing among you."
Everyone exchanged bewildered glances and was unsure what she was implying.
Then, Stephanie turned toward Sebastian. Before the eyes of the bewildered crowd, she kneeled before him. Her guards followed, and they kneeled in unison.
"All hail the Supreme One!"
Everyone in the room was stunned. Their faces were painted with shock and disbelief. They never imagined that the person they had dismissed as a loser and the impersonator was truly the Supreme One.
