"The signing ceremony is about to start. Let's find a place to sit," Sebastian said to Delaney.
After divorcing Lila, Stephanie asked if he planned to call off the signing ceremony. But he decided to go through with it out of respect for their years together.
"Stop right there!" Leila blocked Sebastian's path.
Delaney's face darkened instantly. "Ms. Jarvis, what do you think you're doing?"
Leila pointed at him and said coldly, "He just slapped me, and I'm not letting this slide."
Before Delaney could say anything, Sebastian held up a hand to stop her. He looked at Leila and asked, "What do you want?"
Leila sneered. "Let me slap you in return, and then you can get down on your knees and apologize."
Sebastian laughed at her words. Then, he smiled mockingly. "Throughout my life, only one woman has ever hit me."
Delaney stared at him in surprise. She couldn't believe that someone like Sebastian—a man of such caliber—had ever been slapped by a woman. She was dying to know who it was.
"Then, I'll be the second," Leila retorted as she raised her hand to strike him.
"You think you're worthy to compare to her?" Sebastian scoffed and caught her wrist mid-swing before flinging her away. In one swift motion, he slapped her hard across the face.
Leila was nearly knocked off her feet. She clutched her stinging cheek in disbelief as she slowly regained her senses. Her eyes filled with rage as she glared at him. "You dare hit me again?"
"Why wouldn't I?" Sebastian replied coldly. "If you keep causing trouble, it won't just be a slap next time."
Leila's fury reached a tipping point. "I'm a VVIP at the Supreme Merchants Guild! Hitting me is like slapping the Supreme One in the face!"
Emmet stepped forward. "Ms. Jarvis is right. The Supreme One is the only non-native monarch of the Windwalker Kingdom. He was renowned for his military achievements. Even the king shows him deference.
As he walked toward it, everyone gasped in astonishment.
Just as he was about to take his seat, Leila snapped, "You dare to sit there, Sebastian!"
"Why wouldn't I?" he shot back.
She said icily, "That throne is reserved for the Supreme One. You have no right to sit on it. Get down now!"
Emmet added, "Don't think that being acquainted with Princess Delaney lets you act however you please. I'm warning you. If you dare to sit down, not even her can keep you safe."
Roscoe barked, "If you want to die, don't implicate us. The Supreme One will be furious if you sit there, and we'll all suffer the consequences. Get off now!"
Deimante urged Sebastian, "You really shouldn't be sitting there. Get down, please."
