The Supreme Merchants Guild had long surpassed Bejeweled Tower, especially with the invincible backing of The Crowned Dominion and the Supreme himself. So when the guild decided to entrust a one billion spiritual stone order to the Berry family, everyone in the family was overjoyed.
Lila, in particular, was thrilled. Rumors circulated that Supreme had taken an interest in her and was showering her with favors because of it. She believed this herself, as she couldn't think of any other reason why Supreme would show such favor toward the Berry family, especially since she felt she was the only one worth noticing.
Trevor and Fiona were similarly ecstatic by this. At that moment, Sebastian returned.
When Lila saw him, a look of disdain flickered in her eyes. Now that the Berry family was on the verge of rising to prominence, she found Sebastian even more unbearable, bordering on repulsive. Trevor shared this sentiment, and even Fiona's attitude had shifted.
Although Sebastian was a skilled pinnacle demigod at a young age and the top student in the Royal Academy's inner court, he was also seen as arrogant, overly self-assured, and lacking a powerful family background. This was something they thought would limit his future potential.
Over a year ago, he had recklessly disregarded warnings and disabled Waylon. Fortunately, the family narrowly avoided trouble only because the Karchers were later wiped out.
That was then. Now, with a promising partnership with the Supreme Merchants Guild and the possibility that Supreme himself might favor their daughter, Fiona felt that Sebastian no longer deserved Lila.
"Sebastian, you're here just in time. Go ahead and sign this separation agreement," Lila said while tossing a document onto the table in front of him.
"You want to separate from me?" Sebastian asked, hardly able to believe it.
For over a year, Sebastian had secretly and openly helped the Berry family secure numerous partnerships while searching for clues about his father at the academy. He was on the verge of revealing his Supreme identity, planning to bestow incredible wealth upon them. And now, at this critical moment, Lila wanted a divorce from him.
Lila sneered. "I never wanted to marry you in the first place. If it hadn't been for the Bejeweled Tower contract, I wouldn't have bothered. Now that our family has overcome its difficulties and is regaining its former glory, we're about to partner with the Supreme Merchants Guild. Becoming a top family is within reach.
