Waylon fell hard to the ground, his face pale with fear.
"Mr. Lovell, you told me to get lost. I was following your orders. Why are you treating me like this? What did I ever do to offend you?" Waylon was so aggrieved he nearly cried.
"I told you to leave, yes, but Mr. Wilder told you to stop. Are you deaf?" Sevyn barked angrily.
Waylon finally began to understand; all of this was because of Sebastian, and he was utterly baffled by it.
Sebastian looked at Waylon and said, "Remember our little wager? You lost."
"Sebastian, don't get too pleased with yourself. I won't forget this. Just you wait!" Waylon spat angrily.
"Enough with the talk. According to our deal, you need to kneel down and call me the greatest three times," Sebastian said while smiling.
"In your dreams!"
"What's the matter? Planning to back out?" Sebastian asked with a mocking tone.
"I am backing out. What are you gonna do about it?" Waylon sneered.
Before Sebastian could respond, Sevyn delivered a solid slap. This time, Waylon ended up sprawled on the floor, struggling to get up.
Watching Waylon's pitiful state, Sebastian gave Sevyn a subtle thumbs-up. His new disciple had a temper, but he liked it.
Seeing Sebastian's approval, Sevyn looked pleased as could be. He glared coldly at Waylon and said, "Both Princess Delaney and I witnessed this wager. Are you trying to renege, pretending we aren't here?"
Realizing he couldn't escape this, Waylon reluctantly knelt in front of Sebastian. "Sebastian Wilder's the greatest," he muttered, barely audible.
"Louder. I didn't hear you," Sebastian said as he pretended to clean his ear.
