"Ms. Sidorov!"

"Ms. Sidorov, you're back." A young woman in her 20s named Hazel Brook rushed over. She was Deimante's personal attendant.

"Hazel, I've decided to collaborate with the Berry family. Draft a contract worth 300 million spiritual stones," Deimante ordered.

"While the Berrys are a prominent family, they've been struggling lately. Isn't it too risky to collaborate with them now?" Hazel asked.

"Just do as I say," Deimante replied with a tone that left no room for argument.

Just then, a woman approached them.

"Aunt Milana!" Deimante quickly linked her arm with Milana's.

"Deimante, I heard you plan to collaborate with the Berry family. What's going on?" Milana asked, confused.

"I'm going to help Sebastian with a marriage proposal," Deimante explained.

"Marriage proposal?" Milana looked surprised.

Deimante continued, "I'm not sure how to explain it, but if I can convince Lila Berry to marry Sebastian, he'll owe me a favor."

As the realization set in, Milana nodded. "I see your point, but this is a huge gamble. There are a lot of eyes on you in the merchant guild right now. If anything goes wrong, the consequences could be disastrous.

"Sebastian is talented, but the guild prioritizes profit. Instead of betting everything on him, why not focus on tracking down that mysterious alchemist?"

Lila's blood boiled at the suggestion. "That scumbag Waylon has been after me for ages. He tried to slip something in my drink last time, but luckily I noticed it. And you want me to go to him? That would be like walking into a lion's den."

Her mother, Fiona Webb, perked up with a glimmer of hope in her eyes. "Lila, I think she has a point. Aside from being a womanizer, Waylon is otherwise quite capable. He could really help us out. Why not consider marrying him?"

"He already has several wives. Do you really want me to become just one of his mistresses?" Lila retorted.

Fiona replied, "I know it's unfair to you, but we have no other options. If we go bankrupt, we'll all be out on the street. There'll be no one to protect you if our family falls, then Waylon will have you under his thumb before you know it."

Lila fell silent. She knew her mother was right but was still hesitant to agree.

Before she could respond, a housekeeper rushed in to report, "Mr. Berry, Ms. Sidorov from the Bejeweled Tower is here to see you."

"What? Hurry up and let her in!" Trevor Berry hurried outside.

Bejeweled Tower was the top chamber of commerce in the Windwalker Kingdom. He knew that if they could secure the merchant guild's support, their family might just overcome the crisis.
