For an instant, the air in the room seemed colder!

Even George and Nydia felt the creeping chill outside.

The sun was shining, but they both felt a little horrified.

Jordy sneered with a nod, “Wow, cool.”

Gloria hurried to the door and opened it. George walked in with Nydia.

George looked at Jordy with an evil cackle. “Dude, you were so quick.”

Nydia and I just had breakfast. Maybe Jordy hasn’t eaten yet.

Gloria went on with a smile. “You haven’t eaten anything since last night, and you came to Gloria this morning. Why don’t you go get something to eat?”

Gloria pursed her lips and went upstairs without another word.

Nydia gave them a weird look and then followed Gloria to her bedroom.

“Gloria, how long were you asleep? Did you not sleep well? Why don’t you take a nap?” Nydia looked at Gloria with concern. Gloria didn’t need some more sleep and said quietly, “I’ve had enough sleep.”

Nydia’s eyes flashed. She thought about it and told Gloria what had happened this morning.

“When I was sleeping this morning, Jordy began to bang on my door. He looked so worried and told me you were gone and asked me where you were. I was also worried. I checked my phone and saw your message. Jordy then grabbed my phone. That was very rude of him! Only you can make him nervous…”

“Gloria, I can’t help feeling that he wasn’t faking it. He didn’t have to. There was no reason for that. But if Mrs. Collins were there, then it would be different. He really cares about her.”
