Regretting the Wife He Threw Away novel Chapter 747

“It’s just a small cut,” Stewart said, brushing it off. “How are things with you and Stella?”

“About the same,” Cedric sighed. “Are you here to visit my wife?”

“No.”

Cedric blinked. “...?”

Stewart’s lips curved into a smile. “I’m here to see Bryn.”

Cedric rolled his eyes in disdain. “Oh, give me a break. She doesn’t want to see you. You should just leave before she gets angry. My wife can’t stand to see her upset, and when that happens, I’m the one who pays the price!”

Stewart just smiled faintly. “That won’t happen.”

Yeah, right, Cedric thought, figuring Stewart was just being shameless. He pushed the door open, throwing his hands up as he walked in to declare his innocence. “For the record, I didn’t bring him here! He showed up uninvited, so this has nothing to do with me!”

Hearing his voice, Briony, who was in the middle of peeling an apple, paused and turned toward the door. When she saw Stewart, she gave a small, calm smile. “Is your IV done already?”

“Yes,” Stewart replied, his own smile warm as he walked over. He glanced at Stella on the bed and nodded. “Feeling any better?”

“Much better, thank you for asking,” Stella replied. Her tone was completely different from her usual pointedness toward him. She even added, “Is your hand okay?”

“It’s just a flesh wound. It’ll heal.”

The sudden atmosphere of harmony left Cedric completely baffled. What he didn’t know was that Briony had already told Stella everything that had happened the night before. Stella had been shocked, and seeing the bandages on Stewart’s hand now cemented a complete change of heart toward him.
