The atmosphere became a little tense.
The other Henderson family members were hoping to interrogate him as well but were unsure if this incident would have any impact on Ethan at all.
If they acted hastily and offended him, only to have things work out for him in the end, they would be the ones getting the short end of the stick.
Dylan was the only one who spoke up.
"Grandpa, I haven't been able to visit because Uncle Ethan had placed me under house arrest. If you hadn't insisted, Uncle Ethan's men would have never let me leave."
Everyone present exchanged glances and began discussing among themselves.
"You shouldn't have done that, Ethan. No matter what he did, he's still your nephew. How could you treat him like an outsider?"
"That's right. He's a younger relative of yours, after all. You should treat him better."
Dylan scoffed at their cowardice. At the end of the day, they were still afraid of offending Ethan.
Dylan suddenly rose from his seat and spoke out loud.
"On top of that, I suspect Uncle Ethan is connected to Levi's death!"
Once these words were out, silence filled the room instantly.
When Levi died, Jordan personally gave orders to investigate the cause of his death. However, they did not manage to find anything in the end.
When Dylan returned to the country, he began to clash with Ethan as well, but he kept getting the short end of the stick. He might have some evidence, considering how he was calling out Ethan and claiming that he was the one behind Levi's death.
Jordan looked over at Dylan with eyes that finally showed some concern. "Do you have any evidence?"
Dylan kneeled on the ground, all calm and self-assured.
"Isn't it enough proof from the way Uncle Ethan is trying to send Jodie away in such a hurry? Jodie has stuck by him for so many years. She was never close to anyone else but him.
"Who's to say that she's never been part of his dirty deeds? If you want evidence, you could stop Jodie from being sent away so that we can have her tell us personally about whether Uncle Ethan is the one who single-handedly orchestrated Levi's death!"
These words carried significant weight.
Moreover, Dylan guessed it right—because Jodie did, in fact, know about Levi's case.
Jordan turned his attention back to Ethan. It had been so many years and yet Ethan had never shown any other emotions in front of the family.
His demeanor made it hard for Jordan to read him.
Jordan had weathered many storms, and yet the only thing that remained puzzling and mysterious to him was Ethan.
It had been close to 20 years since Jodie was brought home. Even if Ethan had mentioned it to him back then, it was likely that he had already forgotten about it.
He had always been the most useless person in the family, so it was even harder for him to say anything now.
It was practically pointless to put any hope on him.
Jordan's expression got even darker. With all the strength he mustered, he threw his cup onto the floor.
In a split second, Andrew fell to his knees, feeling incredibly wronged. "Dad, I really can't remember anything."
"You worthless thing! What's the point of keeping you around?"
This was the first time Jordan had gotten angry tonight.
Any astute person could tell that Andrew had no other choice but to take the blame even if Ethan was making things up.
No matter how stupid he was, he should still know this much.
