No matter how cacophonous the world was outside, it was quiet in Ethan's place.
Grace had been kneeling in the living area of Palm Bay for four whole hours. Her knees had already gotten numb, but she dared not stand up because she was not sure if Ethan would drag anyone else into this because of her.
Kneeling on the ground brought a lot of pain to her knees, making her inch toward the couch.
After Ethan went upstairs, he never came back down again. There were no maids in the villa as well. It was completely empty.
Grace yawned. She had been up all night with Lyle as they watched over Lucian last night.
Feeling all tired and sleepy, she accidentally fell asleep while she was leaning against the couch. She had even pulled over the pillow from the corner of the couch while she was still deep in her dreams. She fell asleep with her upper body resting on the couch.
She had been sound asleep all night until a sound woke her up at midnight. It sounded like someone was coming downstairs. When she realized she was hugging a pillow, she threw it to the side and went back to her kneeling position.
However, Ethan was already sitting right beside her when she lifted her head.
It shocked her greatly. When did he get here? Did he see her take a nap?
But he did not even look at her and just focused on flipping through the documents in his hand.
Grace did not dare to make a sound either. She was starting to suspect that Jodie was not actually seriously injured. Otherwise, given how much he treasured Jodie, he would have already had her killed by now.
Grace lowered her head. She could hear Tim walking down the stairs and making his way toward Ethan. He spoke in a deferential tone.
"Mr. Henderson Senior wants to see you."
After what happened with Jodie, Jordan was confident that things were not that simple between Ethan and Grace—or at least that was the case for Ethan.
Ethan had caused a great deal of commotion with Jodie's matter this time. It was a slap in the face for Jordan.
Everyone in the Henderson family was waiting with bated breath, eager to see how he would clean up the mess this time.
Out of the corners of his eyes, Tim could see that Grace was eavesdropping, so he added a few more details.
"The rest of the Henderson family is here. Me. Henderson Senior even had someone bring Dylan over.”
The message was clear—it was a trap.
It was going to be a literal interrogation site over there, and all that was left was for Ethan to go over.
She looked at Tim with a confused expression. She thought that Tim was showing her the tabloid news because he was worried she would be bored out of her mind.
Right away, however, a very familiar name was mentioned on the TV—Jodie Henderson.
She thought that she had misheard it and looked at the TV screen.
The host mentioned that Jodie was the daughter Jack had left behind. The netizens were now demanding to have Jodie kicked out of Eldoria. As of now, the Hendersons had yet to respond to this.
Jodie was Jack's daughter?
Grace knew that Jodie was not related to the Hendersons by blood, but how did the news of her real identity get leaked to the public?
It could not have been Ethan because he had always been forgiving and compassionate toward Jodie.
Grace began to wonder if the Hendersons had seen the news and were thinking of casting her out, only to be stopped by Ethan. This was probably why he was being told to go over.
It all made sense to her now.
She snickered internally, thinking about how Jodie deserved this. She just had to be Jack Quinn's daughter. Back in the day, he was literally the devil in everyone's eyes!
