Reborn From Oblivion (Nellie and Cameron) novel Chapter 1021

“There’s really no need for all this drama,” Morris snapped, irritation flickering in his eyes.

But Mrs. Vincent was having none of it. “Nathan, just this once—let your grandmother arrange a matchmaking party. If tomorrow you still can’t find a suitable girl from any of the prominent families, then I’ll finally give you and Nathalie my blessing.”

Morris closed his eyes, Lincoln’s voice echoing in his mind: You owe Nathalie a proper wedding, one she can be proud of.

A proper wedding, he thought, should have the family’s blessing, shouldn’t it?

He gave a reluctant nod.

“You’d better not go back on your word,” he warned.

He had no doubt this whole matchmaking charade would be pointless, but to put the old lady’s mind at ease, he agreed.

Morris headed back to his room.

Mrs. Vincent’s face was as dark as a thundercloud. Her voice dripped with venom as she instructed her maid, “That Ms. Stewart—I really can’t stand her. Pretty face, but that’s all she’s got. She’s supposed to be with Nathan, and yet she’s still tangled up with her ex-husband. A woman like that? Not fit to step foot in the Sharp family. Go tell Ashley I want to see her. Personally.”

The maid bobbed her head dutifully. “Yes, ma’am.”

A flash of satisfaction crossed Mrs. Vincent’s face. “Let’s hope these rumors keep flying for a while.”

The maid piped up, “Ma’am, should we pay to keep the gossip trending? Make sure it stays at the top?”

Mrs. Vincent’s eyes lit up. “That’s an option? Then push those articles everywhere—every platform you can find.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

Clearly, Mrs. Vincent thought Nathalie was an easy target.
