"So, are you saying Morgan did it on purpose?" Julia asked thoughtfully.
Anna remained silent for a moment, then slowly lifted her head to meet Julia's gaze. They both shared the same suspicion after what had just happened.
If it hadn't been for Morgan, Hayden would have been the center of attention.
"It seems Morgan has some issues with Hayden, but he's clever about it. The key was to change their focus without them realizing it. If Morgan really wants to turn others against Hayden, no one will believe Hayden, no matter what he says. That's why we never cared about him in the past."
Julia's expression grew more serious as she shared her observation. Her findings bothered her.
"Exactly." Anna also had a similar thought.
However, she added, "I hadn't been back much and never really had any connection with Hayden. Whatever happened between you is the real reason."
"You little!" Julia shot her a sharp look, thinking how Anna had conveniently washed her hands of the matter. Her attitude was quite irritating.
Julia sighed and decided not to push the argument further.
"I want to learn more about Hayden's life with the Sterlings. Maybe if I dig deeper, I can get him to return." Anna said softly, staring off into the distance.
"That's fine, but if you're going to do that, you should figure out what he really wants. If Hayden doesn't come back, but the secret stays safe, I'd be delighted with that. If he refuses, it means the threat is still looming." Julia's eyes darkened, a hint of coldness flickering across them.
"The mock tests are in two days, and I'm feeling confident, but getting early admission doesn't really matter to me. I'd rather take the test myself. Besides, unless it's early admission to Brighton University, the other universities aren't much of a challenge. I can ace the test anyway."
Morgan's grin widened, radiating a sense of pride born from his belief in his abilities.
Anna suddenly chimed in. "Since it's a joint test, does that mean Hayden is taking the mock tests too?" Her gaze shifted subtly toward Morgan as she was curious to see his reaction.
Morgan's smile faltered for a split second before he nodded. "Yeah, Hayden should be taking them."
"And what does it matter if he does? He's a loser. What kind of results could he possibly get? As for early admission, forget it. He's not even qualified for that. Have you ever seen him actually sit down with a book and study?" Lily looked disdainful and sneered coldly.
