The rest of the team also headed home.
By now, it was already late at night.
Hayden personally escorted Christina to the entrance of her apartment complex.
"Will coming home this late wake your parents up?" he asked, a hint of concern in his voice.
After all, a young woman returning at this hour might not sit well with her family.
"It probably will, which is why I already told them I might not be home tonight. I told them I'd be working late at the office," Christina explained matter-of-factly.
"Huh?" Hayden was caught off guard. "Then, why are you…"
"I wasn't sure how late we'd be working, but since we finished earlier than expected, I figured I'd come home and catch up on sleep." She grinned.
"Fair enough. Do you have your key?" Hayden asked again, making sure she wouldn't be locked out.
"Oh no… I don't!" Christina's eyes widened in surprise.
"What? You don't have your key? Then, how are you supposed to…" Hayden tensed up, feeling genuinely worried.
"Pfft! I'm just messing with you! Of course I have my key. I'll be quiet when I go in so that I don't wake them."
Hayden let out a breath of relief. "Alright then. I'll see you tomorrow. Turn off all your alarms," he said with a relaxed smile.
Christina nodded before turning around and walking into the complex.
Hayden stood there, watching her until she disappeared from sight. Then, just as he was about to leave, he suddenly paused and glanced back over his shoulder.
"Wait. Was she implying she could've stayed out all night?" he muttered to himself.
Then, realizing where his thoughts were going, he shook his head and laughed at himself.
What was he thinking?
With that, he turned and headed home.
…
By the time Hayden woke up, it was already noon.
"Mr. Sterling! Have you seen the video's response yet? It's blowing up! This video has completely shattered expectations!
"You have to check it out. We did it!"
The excitement in the caller's voice was palpable, and it was as if they were ready to sprint over and deliver the news in person.
Hayden was stunned.
He quickly opened the app, and sure enough, the video was on fire. It wasn't just trending; it was dominating multiple hot search lists.
Views, shares, likes, comments—every single metric had shattered their previous records. In the short-video space, it was already a top contender.
Curious, Hayden clicked into the comment section and was instantly hit with a wave of reactions.
"Twilight Cake? So, is this what the ancient royals used to eat? This is insanely luxurious!"
"It's not just luxurious; it's one of a kind! The night-blooming cereus petals, the dew collected at night, the intricate process… No wonder it's so rare!"
"This video is breathtaking. It's been ages since I've seen something this aesthetically pleasing!"
