Rebirth: We Split Ways.. novel Chapter 97

"No, especially now, I need to keep my spirits up. I can't let them think I'm afraid," Penelope murmured.

Did they expect her to bow down to rumors?

No way!

She threw off her covers and went to the bathroom to freshen up.

At the Diamoson Building,

Journalists from the entire entertainment industry had gathered, waiting for hours.

Suddenly, a red Porsche pulled up before them.

In the car, Kevin asked, "Ms. Reed, would you like to wear sunglasses or don a hat to conceal yourself? These individuals are ruthless, and their presence might disturb your peace of mind."

"No need." Penelope flashed a radiant smile, examining herself in the car's mirror. She looked stunning yet sharp—delighted.

"I want them to know they can't get to me."

Kevin stepped out of the vehicle ahead of time, and the security guards stationed on the side were already prepared. They formed a human barrier, creating a clear path for him while barricading the reporters who trailed behind.

Kevin opened the car door, extending a courteous hand to assist Penelope as she stepped out.

She adorned herself in an opulent, diamond-studded gown that shimmered brilliantly, her smile as flawless and radiant as ever. The reporters, anticipating a downtrodden appearance from Penelope given the swirling rumors, were taken aback by her undeniable poise and composure.

The spotlights shimmered incessantly, casting their glow as Penelope strode in with a determined gaze.

"Penelope! Are you planning to apologize to Mr. Archer for your affair?"

"How long have you had an affair with Simon during this marriage?"

"Do you even remember the names of those you bullied?"

"How will you make amends?"

Suddenly, a bottle flew from behind, aimed straight for Penelope. Before it could hit her, a swift figure intercepted it.

Vincent's eyes narrowed like piercing arrows as he directed the nearby security guard, "Find the person who attacked."

"Yes!"

Penelope stared blankly at the sudden appearance of Vincent, his nose tingling, and he held his arm, feeling a sense of dependence.

"It's not that they're too infuriating; I can't let myself be timid."

Vincent noticed that Penelope's lingering anger indicated he was all right.

"Before returning, Grandpa mentioned that you'll formally declare your status as the fourth Miss of the Reed family on your seventieth birthday. This is to shield you from ongoing scrutiny and criticisms from the public."

"When Penelope was young, she aspired to study at the Seattle Academy. Concerned about potential threats to her safety, Fred concealed her true identity."

"Later on, Penelope developed a passion for art and chose not to return to work within the Reed family, causing minimal impact. As time passed, it created an illusion for outsiders that the Reed family had only three young masters and no young ladies."

"Since you're returning, let's seize this moment to make the announcement," Vincent said, gazing at his sister. "Are you prepared?"

"Okay." Penelope nodded confidently."

"Then you should behave yourself. Stay at the mansion for a few days. After some time, we'll return to Dubai and arrange for you to come along," he said.

Penelope listened quietly and then heard a notification sound from his phone.

[Sister Raccoon, some friends, and I have enrolled in the university in Seattle. Can we meet up?]
